Teachers suffer an entitlement complex, they are parasites. Our schools are failing because of Unions, yet they want higher wages for their incompetence. Wages/Benefits need to be slashed down to private sector levels.
Before Unions took control of our schools, the US has the best education system in the world, we were the envy of the world. Since Unions took control, we now have one of the worst educations systems in the world.
We spend more money on education than any other country in the world and yet most of that money *does not* go to students, instead that money goes to feed Unions and their never ending greed. So what do Unions/Teachers do to try an cover up their failure? They graduate illiterate students and students who can't even find the US on a map. They have committed fraud on the American people for too long.
It is time to abolish public unions from our schools, for too long they have been a wedge between the people and their elected officials, costing taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars and all we got for all this money was failure. Communities all over the United States are going bankrupt because Teacher Unions have held them hostage.

They have been a constant drain on taxpayers as property taxes skyrocket and even in bad economic times they continue to soak the taxpayers for every penny they can get their greedy hands on.
Chicago should fire every single one of those teachers who refuse to get back to work, even if it means closing the schools. Abolish the Unions, blackball all fired teachers and start over. It is time to clean our schools and put in teachers who really care about our children and we cannot fix our schools until we get rid of the Unions.
Chicago has some of the worst schools in the country, the kids are not being educated because of teachers who don't even qualify for teaching jobs. If schools in Chicago actually educated these children, they wouldn't turn to crime. Because they would actually have the skills to live a productive life.

But all this is, is the democrat subversive trick to make obama and rahm immanuel and obama look like they are going to take care of the situation, MORE FALSE FLAGS AND HE REGRESSIVE LIBERALS WILL SUCK IT ALL IN, THE USUAL LIES AND SMOKE AND MIRRORS!
I not so sure unions are the best way
If it wasn't for organized labor, most of us wouldn't have two day weekends, health benefits, overtime pay or paid vacations.
You couldn't pay me $176,000 a year to be a teacher today, especially in cities like Chicago, New York, LA, or any urban school.
50% of the country is on some type Gov assistance and these bastards making $76,000 in 9 months are on strike?
Wanna bet if they opened up the employment they would fill the jobs with qualified, grateful Americans in 2 days.
If you are interested in accuracy, which doesn’t appear to be the case, the yearly salary range for teachers in Chicago is $37,372 to $89,620 with the average being $53,713.
The minimal education requirement to teach in Chicago is a bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0. Like most jobs, teachers will earn more as they accumulate years in their position. A teachers pay is also based on the subject and grade level they teach. As well, their pay is also based on the average pay scale for the area. We all need food and a roof over our heads, don’t we?
You seem very upset by your erroneous contention that teachers only work 9 months a year. The reality is that teachers are not always off then the students are. They actually are paid for the 10 months a year that they work. Do you really think that with an average salary of $53,713 they can afford, or want, 2 months leave without pay? So, teachers have to spread their 10 month paycheck out to 12 months which gives them a grand total of $4476.00 a month to live on. Not an outrageous sum of money to make in a rather expen...

Why are you so angry at teachers? Why aren’t you complaining about the person on the Chicago Prisoner Review Board making $66,864 a year or, the Admin Assistant I position for the Natural Resources Agency who earns $66,322.50 (the Admin Assistant 2 position pays $77,448.00)?
These teachers, who you call bastards, are charged with one of the most important jobs in the country, educating our children, the future of America. What’s more they do it with both hands tied behind their backs by the politically motivated school administrators. Thankfully for state workers, Illinois is not one of those horrendous “right to work” states like Florida where unions are vigorously discouraged. The average teacher’s salary in Miami, a very expensive city to live in, is approximately $30,000. What about being competitive in order to attract the best candidates for the job.
I agree, everyone who has a job today is lucky. Does that mean that no working person should ever expect to get a raise? I don’t think so. This is the first teachers strike in 25 years.
Oh, the flock of people who would be grateful to land a teaching job in Chicago wouldn’t last a year in a city with the highest youth murder rate in the country, teacher assaults, violent street gangs and other wise ass kids who have zero respect for authority.
You don’t know what you are talking about.
A Chicago Public Schools spokesperson said average pay for teachers, without benefits, is $76,000.
CTU attorney Robert Bloch said the teachers want more than a salary increase. It's not all about salary.
What other teacher demands do you find objectionable? What do you think would be fair working conditions and salaries for teachers in a major metropolitan area? Teachers are consistently among the lowest paid professionals in the country. Do you agree that those charged with the duty of educating our children should be on the low end of the pay scale among similarly educated professionals?
If so, I genuinely question your values and priorities.
The public education in the country sucks.
Maybe the problem is people like you who lash out at the first easy target because it is easier than thinking.
What I was arguing for was their right to strike and also that there are so many state employees making the same or more money and what is more important than educating our children?
Thanks for your reply
But, we should also remember the advances made by the American worker because of unions. Things we all take for granted like the 5 day work week, paid holidays and vacations, safer work places and much more.
Greed always gets you in the end.
