Teacher in Texas who previously had received "Teacher of the Year" honors gets suspended for telling a student who identified himself as a "Mexican" [not even a Mexican-American] to "go back to Mexico." Should she have been suspended for that?

This teacher has a middle school classroom full of low level hispanic students who are taught/encouraged by their families to agitate instead of concentrating on their education.

She misspoke...so what! At the most an apology should be more than adequate.

I am an American i was Born as such and i will die as an American, i am capable of describing myself as German as Irish as English as Apache as Cherokee because i am descended from all of them but i would never do that because i love my Country if not my current Government and am an American.

What the teacher did was wrong lets be honest it is a kid and if anything she has singled him out for ridicule and harassment by his fellow students she should have been reprimanded maybe counseled and note placed in her file but i am sure this is more politically motivated then anything else.

He can identify as whatever he wants. Many people say "I'm Irish." "I'm Italian.", and I don't see people saying "go back to Ireland/Italy." And besides, she is a teacher. She is paid to educate the students, not judge the way they identify themselves.
