Susan Powell Investigation: Does Josh Powell's DNA Submission Prove His Innocence?

JadedTLC 2009/12/16 19:10:16
Josh Powell, the husband of Susan Powell who has been missing for more than a week, was interviewed by police late Tuesday afternoon and submitted to a search warrant to collect DNA.

Police, however, say Powell is still not being completely forthcoming with them, refusing to answer specific detailed questions, such as exactly where was he camping the night of Dec. 6 and did his wife have any close friends she may have confided in.

"He's not being cooperative," said West Valley Assistant Police Chief Craig Black. "He's answering very general descriptive type questions. He would not submit to questioning about specific questions we think would be helpful to finding his wife."

Susan Powell was last seen Dec. 6. Josh Powell said he went camping about midnight that night with their two children, ages 2 and 4. They drove to an area in Tooele where they slept in their mini-van, Powell told police. The temperature that night was well below freezing.

The next day, Josh Powell returned to his home in the afternoon. Susan Powell was nowhere to be found.

Josh Powell talked to police that night and the following day. He was scheduled for a follow-up interview Monday, but did not show up for that meeting based on the advice of his newly hired attorney, Scott Williams.

If this man were innocent...why wouldn't he be forthcoming about his whereabouts?? Why would he be difficult and NOT cooperate with police?? If this were my husband or wife you better bet i'd tell the police EVERYTHING they could possibly want to know and then some - in order to find my loved one. Why would you skirt the truth in a situation like this???

Well, with so many of these types of cases over the past few years, why not look at the husband as the perpetrator? Unfortunately for him, he is not being as cooperative as he could be, given he claims to be not involved. I bet Nancy Grace or Jane Velez Mitchell can "try" him on HLN. Personally and tragically, I feel she has met with foul play, and her hubby is the prime suspect. I hope I am wrong for his and the children's sakes. I'll wait until further proof is available before condemning him. She was rather a cutie.

No! The DNA was taken by search warrant a Court Order, he had no choice. Once the warrant was issued you must submit or it is taken by force.

Homicide 101 would say that 95 per cent of the time it's the husband or boyfriend current or ex. Looks to me like he's got some explaining to do, but OH! That's what he's trying to avoid!....hmmmm.

He took his 2 and 4 year olds on a camping trip in the middle of the night- in freezing weather- and returns to find his wife missing? What are the odds of that happening? Further, anyone who has kids would know that a 2 and a 4 year old would be fast asleep in the car- not ready for s'mores. His story is implausible. All that's left is proving the crime.

At this point it is not his DNA that is pointing the finger of blame. It is that strange
spot on the floor of his living room that had two fans blowing on it to dry it. if tests reveal that to be blood and dna matches the wife he has some explaining to do.

Can't figure out why they want DNA, especially since they have no body. His DNA would naturally be all around their house.

They haven't received the results for the DNA testing, have they? I don't know what DNA will tell cops, how could that be compared to in the crime. I don't think the guy is innocent. Just too bizarre of a story to make sense.
