The U.S. cable networks won’t be covering this one tonight (not
accurately, anyway), but Trapwire is making the rounds on social media
today — it reportedly became a Trending hashtag on Twitter earlier in
the day.

Trapwire is the name of a program revealed in the latest Wikileaks
bonanza: it is the mother of all leaks, by the way. Trapwire would make
something like disclosure of UFO contact or imminent failure of a major
U.S. bank fairly boring news by comparison.

And the ambitious techno-fascists behind Trapwire seem to be quite
disappointed that word is getting out so swiftly: the Wikileaks web site
is reportedly sustaining 10GB worth of DDoS attacks each second, which
is massive.

Anyway, here’s what Trapwire is, according to Russian-state owned
media network RT (apologies for citing “foreign media”… if we had a free
press, I’d be citing something published here by an American media
conglomerate): “Former senior intelligence officials have created a
detailed surveillance system more accurate than modern facial
recognition technology — and have installed it across the US under the
radar of most Americans, according to emails hacked by Anonymous.

Every few seconds, data picked up at surveillance points in major
cities and landmarks across the United States are recorded digitally on
the spot, then encrypted and instantaneously delivered to a fortified
central database center at an undisclosed location to be aggregated with
other intelligence. It’s part of a program called TrapWire and it's the
brainchild of the Abraxas, a Northern Virginia company staffed with
elite from America’s intelligence community.

The employee roster at Arbaxas reads like a who’s who of agents once
with the Pentagon, CIA and other government entities according to their
public LinkedIn
profiles, and the corporation's ties are assumed to go deeper than even
documented. The details on Abraxas and, to an even greater extent
TrapWire, are scarce, however, and not without reason. For a program
touted as a tool to thwart terrorism and monitor activity meant to be
under wraps, its understandable that Abraxas would want the program’s
public presence to be relatively limited. But thanks to last year’s hack
of the Strategic Forecasting intelligence agency, or Stratfor, all of
that is quickly changing."

You are wrong we ARE a police state! You are watched by approximately 38 cameras and microphones a day. However, the most insidious of all is the one you carry with you. That is right your cell phone!

    Wikileaks uncovers TrapWire surveillance: FAQ

ZDNet is doing a banging job keeping on top of this story. I recommend the link above (as well as their other stories on the subject) highly.

Another article, with a different kind of angle: Trapwire: It’s Not the Surveillance, It’s the Sleaze. Just by taking a look at the business side of this whole mess, it becomes clear that there are no ethics, morals or principles being observed other than greed and control. With that information alone, it's obvious the people behind all this cannot be trusted.

Who cares? Only the guilty care about surveillance. Just ask ANY secret police folks about who they want to monitor--is it the silent and law-abiding, or the disgruntled, sullen folks?

I suspect that is what average German said about the Gestapo and what average Soviet Russians said about the NKVD/KGB. So, just why is it you oppose our government? Perhaps we ought to report you to the Secret Service! Oh, not so, never mind--the SS has made it clear to me they monitor SodaHead just fine, thank you.

I oppose our government because they use our tax dollars to create global problems and crash our economy. The only things that Republicans and Democrats seem to be able to agree upon is sending our jobs and money overseas, through job killing "free trade" agreements, illegal foreign wars, and foreign aid, a lot of which goes to countries that hate us.

Its tough for some to deal with, they feel their rights are being taken away, but i don't feel its the government doing so as much as people themselves giving an excuse for it to be done, for example, i'm used to the freedom of walking my dog any time i feel like it , sometimes as early as three am, i'm used to my neighborhood, its not as if its overly tough, so i never took to much notice of its ever increasing changes, then i saw a guy walking across the st oddly, my shepard immediately went on alert, a car drove up to him trying to urge him in, i was trying to get away from whatever it was, as i rounded the corner i was met by flashlights and guns my shepard freaked, i had to calm him and one cop is yelling he'll shoot him, i'm stating he's one of you finally everyone calm the cop asks me what i mean i tell him he's a police dog, come to find out the guy i passed was a stabbing victim, the people were trying to get to him before the cops got to them, the story is very real, these types of activities are happening in all types of neighborhoods, people who never locked their doors now have to, quaint little neighborhoods where nothing ever happens are waking to murders, people are taking that of which does not belong to them that someone else worked hard for, stealing someone...

I noticed little microphones hanging down from the cieling in a Walmart one evening. Desirous of expressing my opinion of such devices, I stood in view of the security cameras and vocally expressed myself to the nearest camera. then I walked away. About 4-5 isles away, I looked back. LOL There were several white shirted guys converging on the area I had just vacated. Amazing. I don`t know if they upgraded the tech. or not. I don`t see those mic.` hanging down anymore. Makes me feel safe, for sure.

They have been doing this for awhile now, Really, did ANYONE even think for a moment that they wouldn't ??
I remember when they first put up the cameras here in Columbus Ohio, they said that it was " just " for traffic safety, { One can place a phone call just as fast } then they started to put them into neighborhoods for " public safety " the criminals got smart, they now use mask and hoods.
    give up liberty

If you believe that these cameras are there for YOUR protection, think again.....

It`s a secret. I can`t tell you. Hey, while we`re at it, a nice handgun for ladies is a S&W 38 revolver. Not a big bad recoil and reasonably effective. They even made them with pink grips at one time. Not sure if they still do. I`d stay away from the liteweight model. To me, I think the recoil would be a bit more pronounced. One of my daughters carries a 9mm. Another a 22. I carried a 22 for decades. The mechanics of bullet placement require much practice. The lowly 22 can end a confrontation very well. I now however, carry a Walther ppks in 380 cal. My 45 Colt is beside me now. My S&W 45 LC sleeps with me. Right beside the Rem. 870. That`s my favorite. I set it up with the factory slug barrel, a 7 shot extended mag. and an Uncle Mikes 6 rd. 'sidesaddle' on the reciever. A house cleaner. I keep 2 rds in the mag. w/ hammer down. Everthing else is in Cond. 1.

If you are in a public place, you have no privacy (hence the word PUBLIC), so why worry about the cameras when they are put in a public place???? If you aren't doing anything wrong then you have nothing to be afraid of, right? Maybe they will help someone from being raped, murdered or god knows what.

Seriously ? And just how will they help save someone ? How long does it take for police to show when you call them ? In our neighborhood, it can be a min. of 15 min. to 3/4 hr. . No camera will keep a home invader out. When shots are fired, they come to late. When a woman was robbed and raped in a Walmart parking lot, the cameras didn`t save her. A guy or perhaps a couple guys with german shephrds and pump shotguns patrolling the lot, would have been better than some camera. But now, what kind of society have we become ? Carry a revolver and learn to use it. A revolver doesn`t leave empty cases around. just a injured perp. Then leave, go home. Vamoose. Don`t stick around. Git. Yea, I know thats unlawful, so is some goon finding a helpless victim.

Why does anybody think they have a right to privacy in a public place? Put enough cameras out there and someday it might be safe to enter NYC central park after dark.
