Completely unconstitutional. SCOTUS cannot institute a tax, neither can POTUS. Bad law, worse medicine. Welcome to the USSA, comrades!

You misunderstand the purchase of health care through your employer. The insurance plan your employer offers you as a benefit of your employment is NOT taxed. It is taken out of your paycheck before you are taxed on earnings specifically so that it is NOT taxed. If the health insurance payment were left in the earnings when the payroll and income taxes were figured, then you would be taxed on the value of that money.

No, I understand it very well. And if setup correctly, you are not taxed on the money you use to purchase said insurance. I did not delve into the world of insurance outside of work, nor did I delve into non-benefit insurance offered, because while it 'seems' to be taxed, if one fills in their 1040 properly, they will get tax 'credit' for that item and thus be back in the non-taxed category.

I disagree but the court has proved Obama is a lair, he said it was not a tax but the court ruled otherwise. This is the end of Hussein, welcome President Romney.

I now know that it is perfectly legal for the government to compel me to purchase a product merely for existing.

    Thank you, SCOTUS.

And after Obama said that the individual mandate WASN'T a tax, too.

This law needs to be repealed. The fallout from this is going to be severe.

No, I'll just claim that I'm too poor to afford insurance and have others pay for me under Medicaid.

Or, I'll acquire insurance for free and have everyone else's premiums rise on account of my inability to pay.

And I'm sure a number of others are looking to do the same (and will be able to do so under the new law, if I might add). ;)

i doubt there are as many of you as you think there are....

most NORMAL ppl would like to have h/c ins but can't afford it... now they will have the help they need so that an illness or an accident does not ruin their entire life's savings or put them out of their home.

    Oh, of course.

I love having tax-payers or, if I can afford insurance, other policy holders pay for my illnesses. It's great.

So you don't have health insurance, car insurance, property insurance, or life insurance? That's big-time gambling. Or else you're already a member of the 1% so you don't have to worry about cash payments to the poor schlub in a Mini you ram with your Hummer.

I don't own a home, I use public transportation, I am too young to have life insurance, and I don't own any landed property.

And, before I would have to pay those forms of insurance, I'd have the option of obtaining a car, a house or property.

Thank God I don't have young children who will have to pay the price of a country that I have lost hope in. This is just the beginning of the end to a once great country. There is very little hope left but there sure will be change. How much more are you willing to take? The fabric of this country is now torn apart. God can no longer be used in most public places. People that don't belong in this i country can spit in your face. Blacks can say they want to kill white people and they are praised. MY home has no value. We have a President who hates this country and will not stop until he has total control of you and me. The next step will be civil military who will stop your freedom unless it is Obama rules. PEOPLE WAKE THE F--- UP, OR IT IS OVER.

I don't care what the Socialist Justices say. It is unconstitutional to force Americans to buy a product just for being alive in America.

Another reason to consider electing instead of appointing Justices.
Another reason to stop giving this government the money to dictate.

Hey, I can easily go back to playing clubs, it's a cash business.
