Completely unconstitutional. SCOTUS cannot institute a tax, neither can POTUS. Bad law, worse medicine. Welcome to the USSA, comrades!

I'm tired of working, working, working, then having it stolen, stolen, stolen by a government who couldn't care less about me or the people they purport to be spreading the wealth to, but about power & greed. Perhaps we all should stop working & see how far the government gets on providing what people like you consider "freebies".

Quit your sniveling, be a good citizen for a change, and pay your taxes.

Your little mind has been nuked by Right Wing lies, but that doesn't alter the fact that you still have responsibilities as a citizen.

Baby cakes, I've paid taxes for over 40 years. Your "little mind" probably can't wrap your head around such a thing. I mean, a US citizen actually paying taxes, obeying laws, & minding ones own business. That must be as foreign to you as the US Constitution.

"Let me get this straight . . . We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase & fined if we don't, which purportedly covers at least ten million more people without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a Dumbo President who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!" Donald Trump

Liberalism is a mental disorder. Statism is a death sentence. There is NO "hope" in either.

Hey, I hear the sounds of liberalism run amok coming from your post (that first set of noises WAS coming from a mentally disordered liberal, named "Lee", right? Why such hate & idiocy? Does it come naturally, or do you have to work at it? Now, please go away or I will flag you for cyberbullying. Thanks in advance. In fact, never mind. I've seen enough of your stupidity & total lack of manners. Adios.

Ya but at least I have money to waste..and at least MITT doesn't beg for my birthday money.. WHICH brings me to another point .. ANYONE who in my family who wanted me to donate money to OBAMA instead of a wedding gift .. birthday gift .. etc.. I will be looking for those people I know and will donate the amount of the gift I would have gave to them to MITT.. in their name..

Yeah, I just don't think anyone should donate money to them until we get some campaign finance reform. They already have more money to work with than they should have.

I agree lets start with McCAIN who used public finance last election while Obama who before he won the nomination said he would do to ..but when he seen the $$ jumped off that band wagon.. and who has been campaigning on the taxpayers dime for the last year and is now FUND RAISING even wanting donations from people getting married.. selling $3 raffle tickets to eat with the elites that he is conning money out of all over Hollywood and now I hear CLOONEY will be looking for donations for OBAMA from FRANCE.. yep we should give them all $10k and that's the limit.. but until it's LAW (unless ofcourse who ever is running for a secodn term decides to NOT uphold the law of the land a lot of that going on).. MONEY is the name of the game..

The verdict is another bastardization of our Constitution and the original intent of the Founders. With such reasoning, the government can tax or fine you for doing anything that the government wonks think might adversely affect the "public interest". Never mind, the fact that the government considers the public trust to be anything else they have unConstitutionally coopted for this very purpose. This is a battle for control of our lives and we had better settle this fight on November 6, 2012!

The Supreme Courts ruling on ObamaCare has just exponentially increased the Federal Governments power over Americans. This unintentional consequence of the Courts ruling will not be recognized and understood by most until similar such legislation is enacted by Congress. By deeming the individual mandate to purchase health insurance Constitutional under the taxing provision, the Government can now regulate and control virtually any human activity, providing its not criminal, and demand your compliance so long as non-compliance is assessed with a penalty, or as Justice Roberts interrupts, a tax. Imagine a few scenarios. Given the national debt and the future burden on our children, the Federal Government can now insist that you buy life insurance in order to provide for your children and spouse upon your death. Non-compliance would result in a penalty deemed a tax which would make such an imposition completely constitutional. Just like the mandate to purchase health insurance. Or given the massive bailouts handed to Chrysler and GM, the Feds could insist your next vehicle purchase be American made in the interest of boosting the economy and creating jobs thereby levying a hefty tax upon foreign automobiles purchased. And the list is endless if you begin to think about this. A...

And if you have any doubts, just consider the current attempt in New York to limit the size of soft drinks to no more than 16 ounces and their targeting buttered popcorn in movie theaters. Or try to find a salt shaker on the table in a Manhattan Restaurant. And how about the food police in elementary schools confiscating children’s lunches in the name of proper nutrition and obesity prevention. Once a State succeeds in passing such egregious legislation, there is no stopping others including the Federal Government. It’s truly a sad day for the Constitution but light still exists for the majority of Americans this coming Election Day.
