Supreme Court puts itself and Justice Kagan above the law. How's that for a herd of judges?

Tasine 2012/02/25 16:43:51
I have no problem with this.
I have great problem with this. This assumption that judges can be impartial is ludicrous!
I have no thoughts about it at all - I'm not a judge.

URGENT UPDATE: The Supreme Court has just notified Congress that the Justices
reject all calls to officially submit to the same ethics rules binding other
federal judges, including particularly the legal obligations to recuse
in cases involving possible conflicts of interest!
Help Life & Liberty PAC fight back! Go to the Petition and read
our indictment of Kagan's conduct. Demand that Congress and the U.S. Supreme
Court enforce Federal law 28 U.S.C. § 455 and the Code of Conduct for
Judges for Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan. She MUST recuse from ObamaCare…
she deserves disbarment, impeachment, and criminal referral for
perjury.

"The Court does not plan to adopt the Code of Conduct for United States Judges
through a formal resolution," Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in a letter
released Tuesday to Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy, D-Vermont.

While refusing to adhere to the Code of Conduct on recusal, Roberts claimed
he and his eight colleagues would -- on their own initiative -- continue to
follow the same rules as other judges when it comes to accepting and reporting
on outside income, honoraria, and gifts.

Unlike other members of the federal judiciary, Supreme Court justices have
hitherto maintained a "traditional" standard of determining for themselves
whether a conflict of interest exists that creates disqualification and requires
recusal.

DON'T
LET KAGAN REFUSE TO RECUSE – PETITION CONGRESS AND
THE U.S. SUPREME COURT!!
DEMAND NO KAGAN VOTE ON OBAMACARE!

"The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behavior,"

Would this be termed as "bad behavior"?

I maintain that NO judge who helps the President of the US craft a piece of legislation, particularly one as onerous as this one, is going to recuse himself when the court hears the case challenging the Constitutionality of it. Firstly, they don't have the character and integrity to do it, secondly, they don't want to look as stupid and dishonest as they are, thirdly they would lose the protection of the President who put them where they are. Kagan should, but I doubt will, recuse herself in all Obamacare challenges. I am getting WAAAAAY beyond disgusted with this government.

When judges had principles and integrity, they would automatically recluse themselves in such an issue, however we must realize that the SCOTUS currently contains two Obama appointees. We are a nation of laws, so what happens to the country when the law is no longer respected by the people? Have the liberal progressives finally succeeded in destroying the fabric if the nation?

I would say their goal is, for all practical purposes, accomplished. We can kick them out, but there is decades of repair work to be done, and that repair won't happen with one person at a time working on it.

Good, they should notify Congress of this. There is no reason on earth for them to adopt a damn thing.

This is exactly why the enemy alien in the white house appointed her in the first place. He knew she would obey his instructions no matter what the cost to America. How else does someone as unqualified as Kagan get into such a dangerous (for us) position. As to the other members of this august body, think of what they represent. Having worked in a superior court systems for 6 years I can say the most notable thing judges have in common is they suffer from delusions of adaquacy. They all are playing god and have no qualms about believing they are fully qualified for the job. Sadly they are mistaken. No human has the qualifications for that.

That's right! The people who got Obama into the WH did a LOT of planning before hand to make sure that every bad deed would be covered and not easily reversed. The Socialist and Communist Parties have been working at this for well over a century.

Did Cheney's hunting pal Scalia recuse himself on the Chenery energy papers case? Clarence Thomas wines and dines with the Koch Bros and wife Ginny is a big Tea Party honcho. It is rather ironic that they would let themselves get involved with corporation-sponsored political retreats and events since they like to call themselves "originalists", and many of the Founding Fathers considered corporations the greatest threat to the democracy they had founded.

Like all federal judges, Thomas must file annual disclosure reports on his personal finances, but he had omitted details of his wife’s earnings in what he wrote was a “misunderstanding of the filing instructions.” He also had checked a box marking "no spousal income." Thomas stated that his wife, Virginia, had no income, when in truth she had hundreds of thousands of dollars of income from conservative organizations, including roughly $700,000 from the Heritage Foundation between 2003 and 2007. He blatantly lied. Why is he still a SP judge?

Justice Elena Kagan recused herself in 28 of the 76 cases the Supreme Court heard during her first term in office based on her involvement in those cases as solicitor general. To date, Congress has reviewed emails and emails and has no reason to doubt her.

Absolutely, she should be kicked off. And I think the Chief Justice should call down any on the court who wants to cite foreign countries' laws when judging the constitutionality of one of our own. It doesn't MATTER what someone else's law is. The ONLY thing that matters is the constitutionality of what is before them.

Judges rule on the law and in the case of the SC their decisions are based on constitutional law not opinions.

According to a public statement by Ginsburg that is not true. She makes her rulings based on the laws and customs of foriegn nations and even sharia law. Just as the marxist occupies the white house at present she holds only disdain and contempt for our constitution and the American people.
  • Bella Dude 2012/02/25 17:41:24
