Look out! Just as fears of a zombie apocalypse started to subside, yet another flesh-eating incident has been reported in Florida. WUPW has the details.

“Police say the suspect ripped off all his clothes, started screaming and cursing, and then took a big bite out of the guy who tried to calm him down.”

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Department says Charles Baker was visiting his kids at his girlfriend’s house when he went into a zombie-like state, biting off a chunk of flesh from the arm of his children’s grandfather. WPTV elaborates.

“Much like the Miami face-eating attack, 26-year-old Charles Baker got naked, ate human flesh and wouldn’t go down without a fight... [Authorities] say he was high on an unknown substance...”

Police were forced to taser Baker four times before they were finally able to subdue him. And while authorities only found marijuana and opiates in his system, they believe his behavior points towards the use of the emerging drug, bath salts. The Examiner describes the growing trend.

“Several incidents have taken place across the country regarding zombie-like cannibalistic behavior and the drug bath salts... The powerful drug is said to be a hallucinogen and an amphetamine, [and] has now been banned in several states.”

But in a statement after his arrest, Baker blamed his bizarre behavior on the recent loss of his father, rather than any sort of drug problem. WFLA has the comments.

“My daddy just committed suicide. That was the only person I had out here, everybody else turned their back on me. I just went over there to see my kids. Hey, I know what I did.”

Baker has been charged with aggravated battery and sits in Manatee County Jail.
