I was going to say the same but didn't want to get into a stupid heated nonsensical debate. Read the labels, just about everything purchased contains sugar. thx! :-)

NO! How many taxes are paid before you see it. It's taxed enough. Are people brainwashed into thinking taxes actually help. Look at the cigarette tax. what happened there. [I dont smoke].

While it is not widely known, it was a tax on sugar imports that was the final straw that caused the confederate states to break from the US.

Sounds like something Obama would do find a excuse to tax something. Man that clown is so predictable. Ya think? Its for your own good though. LOL. Just like the carbon tax he tried to pass and than used the EPA as a back door tax on every one.

tax the sugar to curb the appetite? Serious curbing would be the trim that is so bloated in Washington. Their lives are not altered at all while the rest suffer. Those extra tax dollars for sugar would keep them going like the Engergizer Bunny! :-)

Yes you are,... :-) but it is a big huge product that you eat and entertain in just about everything you/we eat, buy and purchase. So it is really huge. Sugar in the bag is what we stay away from, it is in everything we buy. That is the cloud of concern. Check every label on things you purchase. We cut down but it is needed and not an issue of resistance. To tax manufacturers more conveys to the consumer

You are sweeter than sugar anyway. Adding sugar would just diminish your natural sweetness.

There has been a tariff on sugar since the 1910. Americans pay more for sugar than the rest of the world.

is this corect to single the US out and why since everything WE and the world eats has some sugar as ingredient doesn't make it right. It is a way to scavenge more money and keep others down who produce. Tariffs yes but to add to that is not the motive. Me thinks :-)
