All you have is a democrat state senator claiming this is racism, because she wants to incite racial tension. Of course, the truth never matters when liberals want to push their agenda and the people be damned.

The race fear mongers are out in force! The Left is good at two things: 1) Trying to demonize the right with lies and distortions, and; 2) Destroying freedom and prosperity. Progressivism delenda est!

    NONE OF THE ABOVE

LOL - a democrat screaming racism about an upcoming election but snoozes in between them - gawd, say or do something new.

Since when does the GOP write its own voting laws? The short answer: It doesn't. The prize-winning idiot who made this assertion is all about eliminating the requirement for photo ID at the polls as if it's in the best interests of the general public to have elections decided by fraud. Just the fact that this is a BIG story on MSNBC tells me it has a 99% chance of it being a fact-free rant. If these talking heads were truly about voting rights, then how come we haven't heard them of being on a tear to stop the Black Panthers blocking voting sites? How come they haven't been vocal about ensuring the integrity of the system? How can shortening the hours at the polls be targeting blacks when it is done equally in all counties? The last I heard, Ohio also provides absentee ballots for those who can't make it to the polls. The story also indicates two Democrats supported the measure. Obviously, they didn't have any problems with changing the hours of operation.

Bottom line: The program should be renamed to "The Special Ed Show" - geared towards those who have an allergy to truth and common sense.

As someone who worked in a clerk's office and was an election chair, I can tell you the sanctity of the system is under assault all the time. I have seen groups like ACORN sending in voter registrations from college campuses and by a miracle only those who indicate they were Democrat made it to the office. What are the odds of that?

I would credit voter ID laws with drastically cutting down on fraud, but that hasn't stopped the practice. For example, look at the election of Al Franken. Mysteriously, a whole car trunk of ballots marked for him were found after numerous re-counts which put his name on top. The only problem is there were more ballots cast than there were residents. A Google search will show this is not an isolated occurrence nationally.

A little side bar here: It has been said there has been undeniable proof Osama bin Laden is dead - he just registered to vote in Chicago.

I can tell you from my own experience, the local Republican parties and Tea Parties I have been associated with are all about keeping the integrity of the system. They want ZERO fraud from any source no matter who wins. If you, as an individual or as part of a group wish to help maintain the integrity of the system, volunteer to be poll challengers and poll watchers. Contact your local clerk for mo...

I had to add one more comment: Part of the reason your stats may be unrealistically low is most of the time the cases of fraud are not prosecuted. Why? In many municipalities their budget doesn't allow for high legal fees to prosecute a couple fraudulent voters.

The dems are yelling because the vote early, vote often program can't work. If they cut hours everywhere how is it racial or they feel white's don't work. Or the people who live in the burbs don't have rush hour commutes. Give me a break.

You libs just continue to prove that you have no grasp of reality !!!

There is NO RACIST , nor POLITICAL GAIN to be had by setting uniform statewide hours to vote!!! The claims that Ohio's uneven voting hours disenfranchised minority groups is absolutely ridiculous when the FACTS are brought to light!!!

FACT #1 : The OH economy is hurting just like the rest of the states, and in an effort to help rein in some of OH's needless spending, they set up the first election in Ohio history with uniform statewide hours.

FACT #2 : The voting hours are the SAME for ALL RACES , and ALL political parties .

FACT #3 : The hours available for OH voters to cast their ballots are no easier, nor harder on minorities than whites, and the FACT that an OH voter can EASILY obtain an "absentee ballot" for ANY REASON makes voting in OH an EASY task for EVERYONE !!!

FACT #4 : ANYONE that could possibly be adversely affected by the loss of weekend voting or shortened hours is ELIGIBLE TO VOTE BY ABSENTEE BALLOT !!!

    According to the OH Secretary of State's website;

    http://www.sos.state.oh.us/so...

Who is eligible to vote by absentee ballot ?

Any qualified Ohio voter whose registration information is up to date may request and vote an absentee ballot without stating a reason .
