7 paid weeks of vacation a year, $130,000 in salary and benefits a year, upwards of $74/ hr to work. Of course people who work for Unions want to keep the Unions (Duh). The private sector is more efficient, costs less, and is competetive. Unions are helping break the back of States, like Michigan and California, they're all running out of money to pay these obscene pensions and benefits.
Now look at Wisconsin--you all scream the sky is falling when Scott Walker made it a Right to Work State. Since then, he's won a recall election by more votes than when he first ran for office, and he has saved Wisconsin from an exhorbitant amount of red ink in its ledgers.
Unions DID a lot of good for America, but what have they done since? Vote themselves pay raises? Donate to Democrats?
Unions had their day in the Sun. They were needed and helped America become strong.
But that was BEFORE all they cared about was Politics. I have been a member of the UAW for 18 years. I have seen the corruption and thuggery. My Dad's company and my own are now out of business because of Union demands.
While they did well in the past... they are not good today!! Sure there are some outstanding issues of the past...horse and buggy, steam driven trains, telephones mounted on the wall... but times change...and UNIONS have Run Their Course
Todays unions? Absolutely I am against them. They are nothing but corrupt organizations that benefit those at the higher echelon as well as the political parties that they serve.
The Unions were a good thing in the past. Unions that give their money to the Liberal Democrats are bad news. Unions that influence politicians with their collective bargaining tactics are criminals, nothing less. The priivate sector pays for the public sector. FACT.
