reHappy Starbucks Appreciation Day.....or whatever!

The
fast-food social-issues war rages on. Last Wednesday there was
Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, which was a huge success and led to record
sales. (And at least one dude getting fired
for picking an unfortunate method of dissent.) And in response, last
Friday there was supposed to be a
People-of-the-Same-Gender-Kissing-Each-Other Day at Chick-fil-A, but it
ended up attracting more media than protesters.

How else are liberals in good standing supposed to
prove that people who disagree with them about gay marriage are evil
bigots who are bigoted and evil? How are they supposed to express their
righteous indignation? How are they supposed to vent?

Gay marriage activists are planning to swarm
Starbucks on Tuesday
in an attempt to counter the record sales from last
week’s Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.

The chicken chain enjoyed a surge of support during the Wednesday
event, dreamed up by former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee after
Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy went on the record backing the “biblical
definition of the family unit.”

A follow-up protest from Chick-fil-A critics on Friday, which was dubbed Same Sex Kiss Day, was more subdued.

And by “more subdued,” they mean “completely ignored.”

Advocates for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender
rights are trying again Tuesday with National Marriage Equality Day,
initiated by Equally Wed, a lesbian and gay wedding magazine. So far,
nearly 28,000 people have signed up to attend.

Wow, that’s a lot! I’m going to go ahead and predict that National
Marriage Equality Day
is going to be very successful. And that
somehow
it’s going to “counter” the thing that happened last week that they
didn’t like, via some process that has yet to be explained. I figure it
was called Supporting Businesses By Giving Them Your Money,
which is pretty much how our society operates. I don’t get how that
“counters” Chick-fil-A’s sales.

It’ll also be amusing to see if the people who dismissed the Chick-fil-A buycott will change their tune.

You!

ROFLMAO!!! Is this not typical of the utter ignorance of the Liberal Left? My understanding is that STARBUCKS has "BEGGED" the LGBT NOT to have a "special day" at their places of business!

SIMPLE to understand why!!! Lately, any GAYS threatening to KISS in a place of business would be a certain "Kiss of Death" for that business! :) LOL

First of all I don't like coffee and second of all can't see paying $4. for a cup of tea. Guess I will take my $4 bucks and go buy a chicken sandwich.

apparently they are one of many popular soundboards out there for the Gay agenda. (ie, Amtrak, Home Depot) -
Yet another reason not to give them my business or money.

    LOL! Who cares?

That's exactly what the response was for Chick-fil-A. Good, support Starbucks. Again, and I can't stress this enough, we like it. Spend money, buy coffee. Starbucks buys from a lot of ethical companies that support conservative causes. Win-win.

Silly folks. That kiss-in crap was FUNNY! Like children crying 'look at me, look at me!'. Same folks that do not want to be equal - they want to be special.

There was 585,000 people on CFA Appreciation day, only 28 k "signed up".....

    From the Blaze.....
"....This morning, one day after the pro-gay marriage event was held, the Facebook event page shows that only 37,802 people planned to attend. And the fan page for the “National Marriage Equality Day” has only 970 “likes.” Of course, this dearth in attendance, especially when compared with the Chick-fil-A protest, can be potentially chalked up to a number of factors (and consider that we’re basing actual turnout here upon the number of people who pledged social media support)."

you can't even get a dozen protesters to march on washington to end the wars, close gitmo, end the corporate tax loopholes, end the tax cuts for the wealthy, adhere to the constitution, end foreign aid, end the federal reserve corporation, physical audit of gold in fort knox, because their is none..but 28,000 have no problem to march for gay rights..which i guess is much more important !

I don't like coffe that much and Starbucks is way expensive compared to McDonalds or even Dunkin's so I would never go there anyway. But if people want to go there, for whatever reason, that's fine by me. I like Chick-fil-A's chocolate shakes better. Why should it matter to me who goes where. I want a shake now.

What will be great is if Starbucks takes their proceeds from that day and donates them to a cause supporting gay marriage. Otherwise, it seems nice but kind of pointless.

It's just kind of silly, in my opinion.

I'm actually pro-gay marriage, but I think just choosing to not go to Chick-Fil-A is enough... there's no need for the kiss-ins or trying to flood other businesses as a "hey, you, we have support, too!"

It's natural... people want to lash out against the things that offend them, and it's just like religious conservatives who choose to no longer buy Oreos, or shop at J.C. Penney, and all of that. And really, it makes sense, on both sides... why give your money to something, if that money is used by the company to support something you're entirely against? At least, as long as you have alternatives.

The only good I can see in this Starbucks rush (and the conservatives rushing in to support Chick-Fil-A) is that the support of these companies is good for the economy... but really, it's not like people are going to start purchasing from these places more often... which is what makes it futile, even if it is a nice idea.

....some solid practical points. Altho I am a conservative Christian and will back THAT notion any day - im not into the political agenda necessarily. I personally do not care for Chik-Fil-A food - i used to get their brownies when they put nuts on em' but since they do not dos so now - i have no need to go in there - HOWEVER, now that i think about it i must rave their latice frys they're great!

I must say, I've never actually been to Chick-Fil-A... I don't like chicken, so avoiding a place like that would really be nothing special coming from me anyway.
I tend to support local, anyway, so I won't be storming Starbucks, either. :-)

All the liberals did for Chick fil A is promote their business and a huge boost for their quarterly earnings! I'm sure they appreciated it too! Looks like it only made the libs look foolish by boycotting an American business, once again.

Oh, I'm sure a lot can be said about conservatives and pointless endeavours, too... it's not a political thing, it's a human thing.

I'll admit, a lot of liberals do pointless things... so do a lot of conservatives. A lot of us don't, too, on both sides, and prefer to see it as it is.

And of course most Starbucks customers are straight... the majority of the population, in every species, is straight,
