Spirit should be ashamed of themselves. If the man can't fly now because of illness that will probably kill him. What's the problem. Refund his ticket. And show some compassion you idiots. Every heard of boycott the Them

Spirit has every right not to give him his money back. He should not have bought the cheaper "non-refundable" ticket. If he thought there was a possibility that his health would become a factor he should have bought the "refundable" ticket. Veteran or not...Spirit is in the right.

He should sue Spirit in small claims court for the cost of the ticket. If the refund is consistent with the contract he will win. At the very least Spirit will have to review/respond to the complaint and show up in court. This alone will cost Spirit more than $1,000. If they loose and have to refund the $197 he can get a writ of specific action against Spirit to pay up. Who knows, he may be able to get a legal lean on their property until they do pay up. This could end up costing Spirits many thousands of dollars. Hell take the case to Judge Judy and shame the company on TV.

It seems that a lot of companies can't seem to grasp the concept that we are living in the information age.
