If we can get rid of the red tape, the leader will be PRIVATE INDUSTRY! And that way it will get done safer, faster, and on budget!

By 2050, they'll probably have overtaken the US as leader of the world, or maybe even sooner.

    b. China?
Now that 0bama has destroyed our space program, and re-purposed NASA to spreading Muslim propaganda, it certainly won't be the United States. If he gets a second term, NASA will probably be dismantled.

    b. China?
Obviously there is a shift in economic power occuring and China looks like it will be the major economic force in the 21st Century and if anybody should step up to the palte and invest in space exploration it should be China

  • Tony Bob DiN 2011/11/22 20:28:46
they can use my tax money. I'd rather it pay for the space program then most other things
  • Bob DiN Tony 2011/11/22 21:55:49

I agree, but our present government would rather waste it on leeches of society who live on the public dole and PC crap. That's also why we are a step from default.

    a. United States?
I think the U.S. will continue to be the leader but perhaps in different ways than we have up til now. I think we will continue to work on perhaps establishing a permanent moon base and putting a man on Mars or at least in orbit around Mars. I think China and Russia will also remain active in space although they are more secretive about their operations especially their failures. Other countries will be minor players.
  • ETpro 2011/11/21 20:52:17
We can remain the leaders here in the USA if we toss out the "We can't do anything big." crowd currently trying to use every resource found anywhere in the USA to providing additional tax cuts for millionaires and subsidies to further enrich corporate CEOs, especially those that push profits, jobs and investment offshore.

China has the drive for space exploration. Ultimately I still don't know. Russia can still go into space. Private companies art trying to go as well.

    m. germany?
Germany-Sweden-France consortium, maybe Spain included--pretty sure the next "exploration" flight will be European-based--doubt Russia.

Hello! More funding for NASA was in Obama's recent stimulus package. The Republicans voted it down. DON'T BLAME OBAMA!
