The Constitution is the supreme law of the land. International conventions cannot trump that. Furthermore, no treaty that violates the Constitution can be valid--and I don't even think we *have* a treaty that obligates us in this case.

Since the advent of the War Powers Act Congress has given away its authority as layed out in the Constitution. Republicans have no reason to complain since they are the ones who have invoked it most.

There hasn't been a declared war since WWII but we have been fighting in various conflicts almost the entire time so evidently precedence has trumped the Constitution by an act of Congress.

Who did, Afghanistan? Iraq? Terrorists have no ability to actually declare war, they can only commit acts of terrorism.

But since you have devolved into name calling, conversation is over.
