SodaHead Brief: Scott Brown Revolution Heard 'Round The World

In a stunning, though less stunning on the actual day, upset, Republican Scott Brown has won Tuesday's special election for the U.S. Senate seat formerly held by liberal Democrat Ted Kennedy, beating Democrat Martha Coakley.

Fueled by discontent with bank bailouts, lavish stimulus spending and health care reform that appears to reform little, the win will allow Republicans to end the 60-seat Senate majority Democrats needed to overcome GOP filibusters. This could stall a health care vote if the House doesn't approve the exact same bill the Senate approved recently.

While this is a setback for President Obama, it's not all good for Republicans. They have to somehow deal with frustrated Tea Party members who galvanized voters. Also, since they now have some power, Republicans can't just blame it all on Democrats. They have to come with a plan to ease a myriad of problems facing the country.

In the latest SodaHead Poll on Brown's victory, 93 percent said they were happy with the win. Here are some responses from SodaHeads:

Dan™: Real Change, Not False Hope said, "I'm completely amazed, and utterly ecstatic! I can't believe he pulled this off! I'm so glad I opened up my wallet to contribute to Brown's campaign ... I felt like I was making an investment in America's future prosperity."

Jackie said, "Honestly it feels so good to be from Massachusetts right now..the state that first revolted against big government and now to be the state that finally puts the nail in the coffins of the liberal progressive agenda."

One SodaHead did give a word of warning:

Bluerock said, "Let's just hope the Republicans don't see this as a glistening endorsement of their foolish policies. This country needs to get it's financial house in order, cut spending, and get the Federal government to relinquish the power it has stolen from the states."

If you took advantage of what Reagan teed up you wouldn't be so bitter. But you sat idly by waiting for your entitlements to roll in. FDR made people like you dependent on the government. His "new deal" acts actually made the depression linger longer than it would have if he stepped back and let folks work it out themselves. Only WWII got us out of the Great Depression. Thanks for all of the bankrupt entitlements FDR. Great job. You've created the lazy masses in this country who continually look for a free ride at the expense of the producers who make a difference.

I expected Scott Brown to win, not because he was the better person, but because this election received so much attention. The republicans came together for this one vote and I doubt he would have won if he didn't have such media attention and party backing.! I wonder if the repubs would have paid this much attention on Brown if he wasn't needed to end the Senate Majority!
With this election over I hope Republicans finally do come up to bat and actually do some work here and try to work with the Dems. I predict it will become harder for anything of substance to come out of the White House because of infighting.
I really wish our representatives would put aside their party affiliations and remember that not all Americans are Republicans or Democrats, not everyone is a conservative or a liberal, not everyone is a christian and that they, Our representatives are supposed to represent All Americans.

The Republican party backed this candidate in a big way. They knew they had to go after the independent vote to win. Lot's of money was spent on ads and lot's of media attention was pushed. Republicans and Conservatives(because not all conservatives are republicans) made Brown their poster boy for defeating Obama and the Dems. They turned this election into something much bigger than it would normally have been if what was going on with Obamahate wasn't happening.

You've hit the nail on the head! You have to make it all about FEAR or nobody listens. There are SOOOOO many talking heads that are telling you what you want to hear. Why else would you waste sooo much time in front of the TV listening to the talking heads.

AS LONG AS WE HAVE THE TALKING HEADS FEEDING OUR FEARS INSTEAD OF DEIVERING THE NEWS, NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE.

People are upset, this is true. The reasons they are upset are where you and I will disagree. Either way some people are angry that Obama won, some people are upset about the direction Obama is heading, some people are scared of the way the US is heading and they voted that way. The koolaid mentality that so many of you like to use is laced with many half truths and outright lies. I mean really.... Death panels????I researched it did you? It just proves that people will react more to a whisper in the air because it's easier than to actually verify if it's the truth or not. It's actually a brillant move, after all look how dangerous gossip is. People love to hear gossip and will repeat it over and over again regardless of whether it is truth or not.

Your analysis is just about 100% wrong.

In arguable the BLUEST state in the nation, a Republican beat a Democrat for "Ted Kennedy's seat". It's better to face uncomfortable facts and deal with them, then make up a fantasy story that makes you feel good.

My analysis is my opinion just as much as your analysis is your opinion. We both took the facts and made our own analysis from them. Your analysis is not fact, it's an opinion just as mine is. I realize this truth is hard to handle but it is none the less truth.
Mind you it is not a fantasy story that the Republicans and conservatives put all their might behind Brown, that's a fact and they will admit it. Brown's winning does make him the man that will change the dynamics of voting power in the White House and the Repubs and Conservs used that. Why wouldn't they, it makes sense.

Your analysis is wrong because you ignore the FACT that the Republican party in MA barely exists. Putting "all their might" behind Brown doesn't count for much, and doesn't explain his victory.

But as you say, you have a right to be wrong. So go ahead and keep believing it, and we'll go ahead and keep winning.

You make little to no sense. You say the Republican party barely exist, yet you have the Republican candidate winning. Just ask the RNC leader...Limbaugh, he'll tell yah anything to convience you the GOP is alive and full of hate.

here you are being all stupid again jonnyboy..RJ said "the Republican party in MA barely exists." See how you conveniently left the MA part out? See how you libtards are? You leave out important stuff like that out to make a felonious point. Stay on POINT dude. It won't make you look so moronic!

It doesn't matter if the Republican party existed or not in MA. Why would it???? Brown is to be MA's Senator, that is hardly a small local election, and his postion is going to effect the nation. I would hardly call this a small election.
Oh and by the way I may have a right to be wrong or right, but you seem to forget something, you also have the same right to be wrong, lol
