Chris Matthews appears to be over his "thrill going up my leg" affection for Obama, comparing the current president with one-term Jimmy Carter. On "The Chris Matthews Show" Sunday, the host said:
"The word these days is optics, visuals, signals. In the Carter presidency, the optics were not exactly robust, and Ronald Reagan rode that to a big victory in 1980. Is the Obama White House sending some Carteresque signals these days?"

if the shoe fits
We should expect soaring energy costs (because Obama high energy prices because of "Global Warming").
We should expect a fleecing of our military, because Obama will have to cut costs to pay for his giant social spending programs.
Obama's "let's play nicely together" (i.e. bowing to foreign leaders, sitting to talk with them unconditionally, rapping with Chavez, etc...) policy will lower the perceived strength of America, just like the Soviets and Iranians mocked us during Carter.

Given his choice last year, Matthews probably would have preferred Hillary for president, so he was never starry-eyed over Obama. As for the "thrill-up-the-leg" remark, Matthews sometimes talks faster than he thinks, and he often comes up with gems like that.
Anyone who thinks Obama, or anyone else running for president, actually hates this country simply has not been paying attention. These days if you disagree with a politician it is fashionable to somehow surmise that the pol "hates" the country. If that were so, running for president would be a strange way to show it.
Maybe; but I don't seem to remember that .
Obama is academically smart, a good orator, but not wise, honest and has his own agenda, not what is best for the country.
If the economy is the nations driver, why are we wasting time on health care which will further impact us for generations negatively. Easy solution, tort reform, get rid of illegals and only work on economic issues, not wasting money on stimulus graft funds that have done nothing.
Encourage manufacturing, train people, institute workfare (not free rides, you have to give to get) and downsize the government, including the house and senate. In my life, I had to cut costs, look at where the money went and not do things that would impact my families future negatively.
Doesn't seem too difficult does it!
