I don't even drink sodas much, a few a month but who the hell has the right to dictate to me what I drink or how much. If they want to do something that will save 10's of thousands of lives get on alcohol...oh no that would make sense saving people and then the DUI cash cow would dry up and can't have that happen... f-ing losers.

Mayor Bloomberg is an absolute idiot who thinks someone crowned him King of the world. The only people more idiotic than him are the ones who continue to vote for him. I think the people of New York City should have all rights taken away from them and for them to be made slaves. They don't deserve to have any rights when they vote the way t they do!

Whatever happened to "My body, my choice"? Isn't this the same thing? Don't tell us what to do with our bodies? Is this extremely hypocritical or what?

Also, NYC just got more sales tax because people will be purchasing more than one soda to satisfy their needs. Let's see, one 20 oz or two 16 oz sodas.... which is more? Putting the limit on it to only 16 oz. is stupid, it's not even the standard 20 oz.

True but it shouldn't be the Nanny State which enforces that moderation; it should be each individual person, and if they can't, so be it. America isn't about oppressing you "For your own good". Now it's cola sizes. Soon it'll be how many packs of cigarettes you can buy, or if you're allowed to buy them at all. Then porn will be illegal. Then they'll try alcohol again.

~~Christo~~ I was one of the few ppl that had a freaking hairy fit over the seat belt law and helmets on kids riding bikes~~ I called it a slippery slope way back then and now I am right LOL~ all the ads for apts and houses for rent in the NYC area say NO PETS NO SMOKERS~ (ya can't even smoke in a park or on a beach)~~ So when you rent a place~ isn't it with the UNWRITTEN understanding that it is YOUR HOME? Isn't your HOME YOUR CASTLE? SO how can a landlord take your money and tell you that you can't smoke? And how can Emperor Bloombucks tell you that you can't buy a soda of a certain size when he ILLEGALLY RAN for a third term as Mayor AGAINST the will of the ppl of NYC....

I hate to say this but in the case of a landlord, you only rent from him; strictly speaking it's not your home, but his. I don't like it any more than you do but its a fact.

good point plus we must consider the use of Aspertame in all the diet cola's. you'll want to vomit when you realize aspertame is the fecal matter of the e-coli bacteria. it's addictive and is responsible for heart attacks and many other health issues.

For it! I think individual quantities should be decreased simply because High Fructose Corn Syrup is not good for you because It comes from big M field GMO blasted, herbicide, insecticide, petroleum infused unfit for human consumption grains. I wouldn't even call them grain. WE are what we eat, and we are what our meat has eaten. Cattle get sick from from this corn... see "food Inc"; see "food matters", see "king corn"

Very telling that you are inadvertently comparing humans beings to cattle.

I'm an apex predator, not a piece of livestock. No law has ever stopped me from consuming whatever I want, whenever I want it.

All statutes pertaining to substance prohibition are nearly impossible to enforce.

Apparently New York City's problems have all been solved or Bloomberg wouldn't be worrying about soda cup sizes?! This is a example of the same "Nanny State" mentality that brought us Obamacare!
