when was the last time you saw a liberal (liberal with socialist tendancies in this case) back down from a plan thatcontrols peoples lives. he won't even consider tort reform, can't afford to step on those toes.

The face of this changes from day to day, but right now it looks like anyone that votes for this will be fired by their constituents.

And that folks, is the way it is supposed to work in a Constitutional Republic.

Without a public option this nation is doomed. Already we have horrendous health care that is way overpriced. It's running small businesses into the ground.

Nobama is staking his entire future career as POTUS on this one issue ! The Demonrat Seniors are even mad now. There is no tort reform being mentioned either. This HR 3200 has exposed the arrogance of this administraiton even more. BHO does not have the votes for single payer option in the United States Senate.

    NO, AND THIS IS WHY....

No. First of all they are not serious about removing the "public option", second even without it there is too much government intrusion that will raise costs and restrict treatment.

That image behind Obama is the Childrens Hospital Bear. Childrens Hospital doesn't turn anyone away on inability to pay. They receive millions in donations from people like me whose children are Childrens Hospital babies and they do some amazing things to help children that Ezekial Emmanuel wouldn't think are worthy treating.

the taxpayers have to pay for this regardless of who benefits. if you're self-employed, you already pay MORE THAN DOUBLE your regular income tax as a 'self-employment tax' that pays for the existing program. where will the money for this new elite-only benefit come from?

I'll be for it either way. I would prefer to have the public healthcare included; however if it isn't I'll make some personal efforts at promoting a policy that will allow those of us who are working, but without insurance, to be exempted from paying for anyone else's socialized healthcare, i.e. Medicare and state run programs.

they will still attempt to ram it down our throats--this is not so much about health care as it is a power grab like we have never seen--they did not anticipate the stiff resistance they are encountering at the town hall meetings--this is why dissenters are being called all kinds of derogatory names--and being slandered in the mainline media--their tactics are getting old and lame--just like they are

Without the public option we will be caving in to the insurance lobby. The whole plan will be useless without it. That was the part that forced the insurance companies into fairness. I will be very disappointed if that happens. If that happens the CEO's will merrily accept the billions of OUR dollars as "compensation" for a ripoff well done! OUR dollars that SHOULD have gone to OUR healthcare!

All they will do is rename the same action to lie to the people again and "improve" their poll numbers. Ie :public option to co-op still government control.

    Another smoke-and-mirror tactic!

They are only rewording it to 'Co-op'.

Kinda like they can't say terrorist anymore, now they can't say public option.

Same ol' DeathCare bill, new name.

They just want to get their foot in the door. -Incrementalism will be the new approach to socialist health care. When Social Security started, it wasn't mandatory to be in the system. You didn't have to pay into it, and self employed people were exempted. -and of course, Congress exempted themselves also , and in fact weren't a part of SS until the mid 1980's.

This same approach will now be used with health care.
