a distinct .. pre-judging of those of us who served in the Military ..

I'm just a plain ole American. Just call my flavor loyal to the country, the President, my family, and my friends. I've fought under Old Glory for my friends. I can't say that any combat, from Nam to Desert Storm, that I participated in was for my country. I can't say why any Americans died after WWII, politics is my best guess.
I volunteered back in the 60's. I did it for adventure and because my Dad, uncles, Grandfather, Greatgrandfather, and Greatgreatgrandfather all served.
I fought for folks who didn't believe in social equality, folks who didn't believe in racial equality, or folks who didn't give a crap about weather other Americans had a decent education, food, or healthcare as well as for those who did.
So I just don't give a damn about a states color, just as long as its Red,White, and Blue when it counts.

The entire Red/Blue state thing occured after the 1992 election cycle when the big three networks decided what party was represented by what color. Naturally, they chose "blue" for their pet party, the Democrats.
