So, how's those Michelle Obama lunches working for your kids?

At a recent ladies social engagement, the topic of school lunches was breached. A friend, who's children attend a different school, asked if my children had any comments on the lunches. According to the friend the children, high school age, are hungry! After conferring with my girls, they are also HUNGRY! It seems that 'lunch' is now a small portion of main course, a large serving of veggies, a serving of fruit, and a second serving of veggies. Dessert which used to be a regular is no more. They may also receive a bun. These are high school students; some whom started at 6:00 with Vball practice, some who will have football practice or volleyball (depending on the school) until 6:30pm. All do not have time for a snack! My daughter who plays volleyball is 5' 6 1/2", 105 pounds, dripping wet. She is absolutely starving when she gets home! Quite frankly, no one gets fat on school lunches, it's eating habits at home that set weight. Our schools have always served decent food, now they get dinky portions...
I think it's time for the Obamas to go on the school lunch diet, maybe 'someone' will lose some booty pounds!
