Comrade Obama and friends has us becoming Russia...the over throw of the Constitution is almost complete...Treason is no longer punished ...and the Czars dominate policy and programs...the free economy is ending with more businesses being control and managed by the party...soon freedom of speech will be removed and the Putin Communists will rule...we already see the law does not apply to the Comrades and their friends....

I think Russians are just like any other people, and that Russia is a nation with a very interesting and colorful history. (At the bits I can actually remember) I would like to visit someday.

It's funny how Americans think that all we do is drink Vodka. (I'm from Russia, too)

It's not all we do, but we do drink a lot of vodka. Some do, some don't. I sometimes do but not a lot.

ok, good, at least theres some vodka involved. to most americans, the world would stop turning if russians didnt actually drink vodka

Well, we invented vodka, so we have to drink it sometimes at least, right?

I never really believed the stereotypes about Americans that much. I'm vegan so I've never had hamburgers or anything, but America isnt the worst for fast food restraunts. China has the most fast food restaurants in the world actually.

Lazy/overweight, redneckish, very very conservative, and very religious. I don't really believe any of them, but those are the ones I've heard.

.....actually....well lets see, those who are over weight are usually morbidly overweight, theres this huge debate between the conservatives who have more power and the more liberal population, um, rednecks are usually those who live in the mid to mid west, along with the rural areas of just about every state, and its not that were very religious, its just the stringently religious turn out to be really really loud. and the overtly religious tend to be the excessively conservative as well... but yea, most of those are accurate to some degree

I lived in America for two years and moved back to Russia this year. I find that about 25% of the stereotypes are somewhat true but most people are Pretty cool.

it did, and the only thing that matters to us is first impressions. sadly, most of our government is run by older conservatives who want to back to the good old days, and like sheep, this population follows blindly. im sorry about my fellow americans ignorance...

Not an American and I hope you don't mind me jumping in here Lydecho.

I've always felt a sense of common ground with the Russian people. I think that there are a number of similarities which Russia and Canada share that has shaped the people in similar ways. Vast territory, harsh climate and of course a passion for hockey.

I think the Russian people are for the most part the same as anyone else. Wanting little more than freedom, peace, a little prosperity and the hope your children can have a better future. There is no doubt as to the courage and resourcefulness of your people and I hope the freedom you've recently earned is not frittered away but expanded.

The Russian people are just fine. But your government has been taken over by Putin and his minions. You need new blood in your government and therefore new ideas and leadership. But it will be difficult as Putin has his controlling fingers into almost every aspect of your government.

I truly hope you don't move back toward a more communist or marxist type system. Capitalism is still your best option , but transition has been difficult because of mafia style crime your country has endured. Don't give it up. It takes time.

I hope to visit some day if my finances will permit and I wish you the best.

People are people for the most part, regardless of where you were born. It's usually our governments that are screwed up beyond belief. And right now, we're both toast.

I don't think anything based on what boarders you live in. I know you have good people (from what I know of Sergei Kozlovskii he is a hero) and you also have bad people ( I know you guys have right wingers as well)
Overall I stand in solidarity with the working class of the world,

Only speaking person to person. No problem. Met many Russians and folks from various Soviet states and all were nice and most are really smart. The women can be a little tough and pushy so they compare well with American women.
