The Catholic church breeds people who are hateful to those who aren't exactly like them..
And it needs to allow priests to marry to get their hands off of the kids. And it needs to stop the hate and abuse of children.

The catholic pedophile priests are the most perverted

I went to a Catholic school for 9 yrs. I can honestly say that I had no problems with the nuns or priests. In first grade there were about 50 kids to a classroom with one nun. Everyone was well behaved. I don't remember the nuns ever being mean. This was in 1964,in Ohio. I do however believe the children that have reported these evil crimes. I no longer want to be associated with the catholic church because they were hiding pedophile priests for so long. You would think I would stick up for the church since my experience was good, but I refuse to belong to an organized religion who does not stand up for Gods most innocent children. There is a verse in the bible that says 'What goes on in the dark, will come to light" Well it has come to light- Everyone knows about the Catholic church, my friends in the Catholic church tell me not to judge all by a few evil priests, but this is alot more than a few, this is thousands upon thousand of children who's very spirit was taken from them. They have destroyed Gods most innocent, thus these children who grow into adulthood will pass the abuse on... The Catholic Church is doing the devils work. I sat in Church just waiting for the Priest to Condem these acts and fight for the children but I never saw that, so to me they are also gu...

I truly believe that maybe the catholic church started as a haven for pedophiles, does anyone know the history behind that?

I've never had a Nun for a teacher, but I did have Christian Brothers and Priest in High School. If you were caught talking at your desk during study hours, you were made to bring your books and kneel on the cold marble floor of the dormitory, face the walls.

I was one of the many lucky ones that didn't become a victim of the brothers or clergy.

As an adult, I met three nasty nuns best described as Old, Older and Oldest.

I went to Catholic schools that had mostly nuns. Most were OK the others, well.... Some of their nicknames that I can remember were Mental the first, Mental the second, John Paul Jones, and The Bruiser. She was called that for a reason.....they all were.

Actually, I would say they were reassigned to protect the reputation of the church more so than to protect the individuals. Still, it is reprehensible to try to hide the truth of their crimes.

Every social, idealistic or religious group has its brilliant examples, its loyal followers and "black sheep" and insane fanatics, of course. It is also said that the path to hell is paved with good intentions. There are many fine people of every kind who defend same rights, equity, solidarity and the respect for live. A belief, religion or ideal does not excuse criminal acts. My own experiences with nuns are positive - I am corresponding with one of my former teachers, a highly charismatic, open-minded person who is still active within an open church.

I have to tell ya when one of those penguins takes a ruler and wacks you hands repeatedly for raising your hand to go to the bathroom I can only imagine what the pedophile priests did.

In the 2nd grade I got sick and tired of getting my hands wacked so I took the damned ruler away from the penguin and broke it into 4 pieces less than 6 inches long. Then told her if she hit me again with a rule I'd take that one away and wack on her.

Of course that didn't go over well with her and she slapped me in the face. I lost it and chased her out of the classroom all the way to the school office.

My parents were furious with the school and demanded a refund and put me in public school I did better there than I did in the penguins prison.

Pedophiles have been hiding in the Priesthood for centuries, including Lesbian nuns. The Vatican is corrupt, has been throughout history. I attended Catholic and public schools. Nuns were very strict, often too strict for elementary age children. We learned to spell, math, reading, and discipline which you rarely find enough of in schools today. Many nuns were deliberately sadistic, sarcastic, including miserable. I don't believe in formal religions anymore. Jesus did not form formal religions. However there can't be a worse pedophile than Sandusky, who is Jewish.

the most perverted....I think there are more vile sick people in this world. I've been around a lot of sisters and I never had a problem, one is used to be my teacher and she was nice.

Just to let people know, there is a difference between a sister and a nun. Nuns live in monasteries and sister are ones you see walking around the place and in catholic schools. They are the "active" ones. :)

As with any GROUP, there will be perverts. The Catholic Church is huge and represents hundreds of millions around the world. If we hear of a Priest or Nun being obscene, it is no different than condemning any GROUP because of the same thing. I am terribly opposed to them moving these leaders around after finding that they are horrible, but that lies in the bodies of local organizations more than any thing else.

The Catholic church, like any large organisation will have some very dedicated and sincere people trying to do good. However there will also be the sadistic and perverted. The main question is or should be what is done when these individuals are identified.

A small group of nuns and priests are a problem. I attended caholic schools and have come into contact with both. I avoided the priest, but spent some miserable years in school.

Statistically, educators and relatives have a higher percentage of abusing children than does the priesthood or nuns. Why is it that no one goes on a rant about them? Oh, yes, because it is more fashionable and liberal to take pot shots at the Catholic Church.

As any church that goes astray, they need to get back to God and his commandments and yes, clean up their act.We are dealing with humans [ yes, even the pope is human ], and as such,have good and bad human nature. If they are in a higher position in the church, they especially need to do the right thing, because the higher one goes, the more responsability they have and that means, when they mess up big time, they are in bigger trouble with God than the rest of us, because they have taken an oath...once they told God they would help his children see and understand Gods word and show by action themselves the meaning of that word...then they are under that oath, period.
