"Saturday Night Live" took a stab at Fox's "Fox and Friends" on Saturday, implying that the show hyped up the government shutdown and unfairly blamed President Obama for the close call.

In addition to criticizing Fox's treatment of the shutdown, they poked fun at the anchor baby debate, birthers, and Fox's credibility.

Plus they did a great opening with the President talking about the shutdown that was funny too. I see the righties have no sense of humor on their resumes too.

If the liberal media and comic shows weren't so twisted and biased against conservatives, I'd have voted yes...free game to criticize. Unfortunately, those people who don't watch FOX news are not getting factual information so therefore I don't like any negative talk about my beloved fox news :) because the liberals aren't getting good information.

Except that it took more than a 30% drop in ratings for this Liberal Shitcom to realize that the majority of America (80%) is not actually Liberal. When the money started to dry up, Fred Armisen stated doing a very, very weak impression of Obama. Over time he has occasionally upped the anti a bit for comedic effect, even though it went against his grain, which showed. NBC had no choice, but to move into a more centered approach in order to gain viewers. As much as Liberals hate to admit that they are not the majority, the money path led the way and the show departed its mostly left stance. That does not mean they are not a mostly Liberal show, which they are. It just means that begrudgingly, they have had to wipe most of the silly smirks off their faces and do some all around comedy or face cancellation. Kind of like NPR and a host of other ALL left organizations pretending that representing less than 20% of the population is somehow overriding the other 80%

Liberals are a lot more than 20%. Easily half of "moderates" are really liberals.

Of course they are! I watch Fox in the morning and switch between them and Morning Joe. Both have their ups and downs. (Until Mika puts on her "holier/smarter/sophisticato" attitude and I want to throw something at the tube) - Joe, Willie and Mike usually reel her in... I digress...
SNL is an institution that MUST poke at that which must be poked. Lord knows, "the Curvy Couch" is just the place to poke.

The republican stance is a joke and would be laughable if not for the gullibility of all those who have swallowed the lies. They just want to privatize everything so that corporations can profit from the services they want to cut and they will cast aside anyone who can't afford to pay. Know anybody who is handicapped or ill? They will be screwed if they are not independently wealthy and the repubs get their way with the budget.

I don't know by being right but if we can't poke fun at anyone then why have a humor emotion? We have been poking fun at anything as a way to lighten up the world we live in. SNL has been doing this for years so why not?

To each his own as far as I am concerned about comedy. Fox has done some right sided comments as well as many of the left sided news agencies. Our government been out of the real power ever since the super rich have taken control of it years ago.

The laws are pretty much dictated by the 1% wealthiest in the US to the lawmakers in a you scratch my back I scratch yours mentality. The stalemate was a ruse to get what they wanted and has been like this for decades.

Obama can't be blamed any more than Dubya or Clinton for failing to reach a budget on time.

As the joker has always said to those who can't laugh...."Why so serious?"

That's the very kind of thing that the show is supposed to do. Albeit the fact that the show hasn't been very good in, at least, ten years, they should still be poking fun at politics. It's pretty hard for Conservatives to get offended by third-rate Liberal tools, though. The intelligence to prove any faults in Cnservative thought just isn't there - sorry SNL, you are yesterday's attempt at humor.

If they wanted to really do a skit more accurate they would have done it on Obama, Reid & Pelosi. If they did, they would have great material for years to come. But no......they went after those who oppose Obama, Reid & Pelosi.

Did Soros recently invest in SNL?

They could have done a real good one with the Dems. running around saying that the GOP was trying to kill granny and throw kids under the bus. Or Reid and his "cow boy poets", that would have been much better material.

No because it took them to the deadline to come up with a deal, plus our Military personnel were in fact briefed by their superiors of the possibly of a reduced or possibly no paycheck and Armed Services Charities (ie Navy Relief, Army Relief) were placed on standby to assist families with food and possible assistance for housing. SNL can make fun of who they want and they usually do, their skit doesn't make anything they said as truth because none of them know the truth.
