Slain US ambassador Stevens a Courageous and Humble Envoy to Arabs: Should Media Show Pictures of Ambassador's Body?

Islamic supremacists murdered American Ambassador Chris Stevens in Benghazi, Libya. Ambassador Stevens risked his life to help the people of Libya form a better country, to protect their rights, to stabilize their nation, and generally improve their lives. They returned his kindness with murder and possibly torture before his death (according to recent reports.)

Pictures of Stevens' beaten and bloody body dragged by a Libya mob have circulated. It sickens me to see his body intentionally humiliated by the enemy of Western civilization. The alleged worshipers of the religion of peace brutally murdered him and want to use his corpse as propaganda in the war against our values. They want to intimidate us and undermine our values.

On the other hand, the media has the responsibility to show the truth. They have the job to inform -- not cast judgment or censor themselves too much. Showing the pictures helps Westerners know the evil that our enemy (the radical Islamic supremacists) possesses. It demonstrates the extreme measures they will use to defeat us. They do not want peace. They would not accept our surrender: only conversion to Islam or death. They seek to destroy, not build.

Should the news media show the pictures of Ambassador's Stevens' dead body? Does it help Western values? Does it hurt the dignity of Chris Stevens? The Stevens family? Does it undermine America's strength and aid the enemy?

Note: These Islamic supremacists don't represent all Muslims. We all know that. I shouldn't have to write it, but I know many Muslim sympathizers will rush to protect the good people/side of Islam before the Muslims themselves will condemn the evil radicals that murder in the name of their religion. With over 1.6 billion Muslims in the world, the good Muslims must fight the radical element. If the fringe amounted to only 1%, that would still amount to 16 million radicals.

WASHINGTONPOST.COM reports:
At the height of Libya’s civil war, Chris Stevens dashed off to the rebel stronghold of Benghazi by cargo boat to help shape an assortment of Libyan politicians and militias into the cohesive unit that would defeat Moammar Gadhafi. A year-and-a-half later, the 52-year-old ambassador died as Islamists attacked a U.S. Consulate in the same city.

But make them available on a separate page that's at least a click away, with the usual disclaimers about:

    1. Copyright, and

    2. Parental judgment and discretion.

The age of "Aired one minute; gone the next" is over. That of the Internet, with its indefinite archive, has succeeded. So now you can work things out to satisfy both concerns without harming either.

The pics and video's are available on the net and even on fb.
So far Obama has failed at both his foreign policy and domestic issues (too many to list)

I blogged about the 100+ dead children who were on publically posted flyers throughout their neighborhoods, the neighbors massacred them for being different, gay, emo or wearing skull belts. No one covered the sodomy and butchering of these children.

The media is complicit with their lies of ommission, hiding the facts, we are indeed in danger both at home and abroad from these Islamic jihadists (millions). By not alerting Americans, the media is allowing these atrocities to happen continuously because they would rather be PC than to protect our citizens throughout the world.

We need to know what they are doing, when and why. Americans are not awake or aware.

And report the events truthfully without trying to excuse muslims.
Americans should see how 0bama's assistance to muslim Brotherhood brings to us more hate and terror from muslims.
I wonder what the ambassador was thinking while being killed by the same people he helped in their fight against Qaddafi.

Ambassador Stevens deserved better dignity than Osama Bin Laden did. We NEVER did see those pictures of OBL's body that we were promised, afraid that we would ignite passion in the Muslim world.

For that reason alone, I highly doubt the regime's claim that Obama killed OBL.

If a cartoon or an editorial or an obscure anti-Muslim film ignites passion for killing in the Muslim world, what happens when they really get pissed off?

Really? are you serious? We were NEVER promised those pictures, that was one of the very first thing Obama made clear, he did not want them released not because of fear igniting passion in the Muslim world. He didn't want to release them due to them being on the internet and that they would be altered, photo shopped or laughed at, which would've sparked more hatred from that country. where do you get your ridiculous info from??

Ambassador Stevens was a hero and his dignity is unassailable. It is the complete lack of human benevolence, human dignity, and rationality that his killers displayed which needs to be highlighted. Americans need to see these images so they will finally stand on principle and refuse to allow such scum to attack and kill Americans. This is an act of war and should be responded to as such. The attack on the American Embassy in Egypt is also an act of war. We need a President who understands that his primary responsibility is as the Commander-in-Chief. Obama thinks he is the Economist-in-Chief, but that function is not supported by the Constitution and his complete ignorance of economics and business makes him a joke as a pretender to that position. No, Obama, Marx did not understand either economics or business.

If that's what it takes to show the liberal West just how radical Muslims treat you when you try to "outreach" with them, then yes, show the pictures.

We helped the Afghanis fight the Soviets 25 or 30 years ago. We trained them and gave them weapons (one of them was a guy named Bin Laden). Today, many of those Afghanis hate us.

We give Pakistan billions in aid every year, and how did they repay us? By hiding Bin Laden and then imprisoning the Pakistani citizen who helped the Seal team find him. Disgusting.

The Obama administration aided rebels in Egypt and Libya earlier this year -- without even really knowing very much about who they were. Now look what's happened in those two countries.

Obama's Muslim-outreach policy, beginning with his infamous Cairo speech in the spring of 2009, clearly hasn't worked.

I never said that he knew what was going to happen.

I'll even give you the certainty that he did NOT know what was being planned.

The dilemma lies in the fact that he decided that it was more important to campaign for his second term - The same term that he will never be given - than it was to attend Intel Briefings for a full week before these atrocities occurred.

He has made a habit of putting himself before our country and it's people, and Americans have died because of it.

This man has the very worst form of arrogance, and once again, Americans were put in harm's way as a direct result of it.

You can defend the indefensible until you are blue in the face for all I care. As for me, he disgusts me to no end.

No, I cant imagine how his family must feel when they see the pictures of their Dad, Husband, Son, or Brother. I cant comprehend the mentality of the people surrounding him in these pictures. Where is the human compassion? Where is the desire to help him? They are barbaric, and only understand brute force. It has been reported that he was sodomized before he was killed, and then his body was drug through the street. Where is the public outcry for justice in this country? People who live near their embassys here should be protesting them, their should be protests outside our Capitol, and maybe just maybe obama would respond............ if he can find the time. Im sure between Letterman and his chat with Dj laz the "pimp with the limp", he stays too busy to trouble himself with "Real" Presidential duties,
