If asked, no doubt your Congressional Representative would say that the Federal Tax Code is too complicated and needs to be fixed. If this is true, why has he/she never lifted a finger to fix it? Because the tax code is the tool which Congress uses to punish/intimidate enemies and reward/enrich friends. If simplified, your congressional Representative would have one less tool to provide favors in return for campaign contributions. This is the dirty little open secret that props up this messy, tyrranical tax system. Let us hold these politicians accountable not just for what they do, but what they fail to do. Fix the Tax Code now or get out of Washington!!
