The law states that children are allowed to stay on their parents policy until the age of 26. They are not considered adults under this law.

They are adults an as an adult they should be responsible enough to get their own insurance and not depend on mommy and daddy.

....and while they are at it.....why not continue NURSING FROM MOMA'S TEATS while they are at it....perhaps if this pathetic administration would have spent their precious time creating and promoting JOBS, these little tykes could have worked and earned their own insurance.

Not at all! I believe your one of those leftys that want everyone else on welfare. It seems that you have no problem giving away our tax dollars just so you can feel all warm and fuzzy.
We on the other hand want to put people back to work and get them off the crack (Welfare) and become productive citizens again.
    I salute you

Why not ? The insurers pick up millions of new customers, most of them quite healthy. Kids in their 20's are just getting out of school, finding a job, settling into their own place ( well, if they are lucky)... etc. Most cannot afford insurance on a beginning salary even when offered through an employer.

God, what a wussy country we live in now. Everyone has to have there butts powdered now and are helpless if Uncle Obama isn't their to kiss your boo-boo's.
I recall a time when Men were Men and you had to pay for your own med. care.

The jobs are out their you just have to close your eyes and walk pass the welfare lines and tell yourself "Don't take the free money" and just move on.

That's between the insurance company and the person paying for the coverage. Government has no place there.

My point is that this is a good, common sense way to get insurance coverage for a group that could otherwise not afford it. It is in our nation's interest for all of us to have coverage.

People that don't have insurance cost me money. When they don't have it, hospitals charge the rest of us more to subsidize the freeloaders. Kind of like what the cons like to call "socialism."

So you think the appropriate response is to petition for ARMED GOVERNMENT THUGS to force people to spend their money on something AT GUNPOINT? For them to ROB PEOPLE via another tax if they don't do it?
  • Roger47 TheCouc... 2012/07/05 22:00:19

There are no guns involved. The only method of collecting the penalty is by taking it out of people's tax refunds. What is it about this issue that has caused your view to become so distorted from reality? If everyone had insurance, then Obama enacted a law that said some could decide to go without and the rest of us would pay the cost of their care, would you be defending him?

Government is force. Whatever the government does is backed up by the threat of violence. Is coercion morally wrong or is it not?

I'm defending individual autonomy, the basis for the concept of "freedom", which you and most others I encounter these days, regardless of what they call themselves, don't have any respect for.

they should be responsible for themselves at that age.I already worked and had my own insurance.

Many at that age work jobs with no benefits, that do not pay enough for them to afford their own insurance.
