Boobies are only naughty because some moron said they were a few centuries ago. We should be smarter than this by now.

...... So why is it that men are allowed to then?
Are their nipples nasty? What if children see them?
Oh wait, it's only okay because he's a man.
    Sexism and double standards.

    Tits are tits.
They shouldn't be made into something sexual when it's just body parts.

Children have seen breasts as infants, and will see them again when they're teenagers.
Why does it matter? It's not like walking around without underwear.

    A chest is a chest.
    Boobs or not.
If men are allowed, women should be too.

I'm sure their tiny minds have been warped enough already by seeing men shirtless. I mean, it's so scarring.

    PRECISELY.

You think people would have outgrown the whole "lets believe whatever society tells us despite how illogical or nonsensical it is" metality by now.

The human tradition goes back thousands of years. Certainly, there are traditions and mores that were established back in time that might not be relevant today. But considering the long history for some of these traditions, it would be wise to do a little more questioning and research before concluding they are bad or irrelevant. Unintended consequences rear their heads often and usually when somebody is trying to change time honored rules and traditions with the best of intentions. I'm not arguing for mandatory coverage of boobies, but I only offer caution that unlimited exposure may prove to be a genie best left in the bottle.

I agree, completely-- unintended consequences and implications are always my first concern in any matter. However, apart from a possible rise in melanoma from UV exposure or some sort of airborne nipple contamination in breastfeeding mothers, I think a serious overhaul of public nudity/indecency laws and attitudes would do far more good than harm.

What about all the women making money off of showing their boobs for money? You are taking food out of the mouths of their children if you make it free. You could kill a whole industry! Just think of the unemployment and lost jobs! Do you really think it is a good trade-off? ;) The point is that there may be many unintended and unimagined consequences beyond the ones you noted.

LOL... I guess strippers would have to go 9-to-5 like the rest of us. :OD

Again, the positives would far outweigh the negatives. Nudity laws are outrageous, when you think about them.

Why? Men and women are different. The affect of men going topless vs women going topless can be quite different. Perhaps it is all cultural, but perhaps not. In any case, it really doesn't matter. Right or wrong, significant or not, there is a difference. And I say Viva la Difference! ;)

The only difference there is, is that one is deemed wrong by society, and one is deemed fine by society. And so obviously, peoples reactions to one versus the other are going to be different. Derp. Not really a valid point.

Different as they may be, we all have nipples.

So shouldn't it be no nipple exposure across the board, if your not for nipple exposure for women?

Look, I don't have a problem with exposed breasts, male or female. Well except for some that are pretty hideous. I do know that female breasts turn on most males whereas male breasts probably don't have the same effect on women. Maybe I'm wrong. My thing isn't as much about it being indecent exposure as it being inappropriate in some places and at some times. The same is true for guys, although granted there is more latitude given to guys.

I get what your saying, and what your saying is actually my point.

It shouldn't be that way now. It never should have been that way. And it should be changed.
The only reason boobs are sexualized so much is because society made it that way.

Like i mentioned to another person before, you see a guy shirtless, you likely don't think anything. Because its the norm.
It would be no different with female breasts, if they were the norm.
I believe women should have just as much a right to go topless as men do. Meaning okay if your outside, but not okay if your going to a place of business.

And also, its ridiculous to outlaw something based off someone's sexual attractions.
I mean, I have a foot fetish. So do many other people.
Does that mean no one should be allowed to wear sandals?

Just because breasts may be a more widespread sexual attraction doesn't really make it any different then the example I just gave above. Especially since the biggest problem most people seem to have with going topless is the sexual stigma breasts have in society.

I'm just saying, "Be careful what you ask for." There are already way too many guys that are way too young needing to take Viagra and I suspect it may be in part due to the easy access to porn. Not that I'm against a little porn, either, but when/if it leads to dysfunction, then that is a problem. ;)

IT's only a turn-on because we're raised to think of them that way.
If women walked around topless during the summer at anything close to the rate men do, it wouldn't even faze you within a month.
It's like a fundamentalist Muslim or Orthodox Jew seeing too much ankle or neck.
It gets them going, but doesn't do anything for your average guy.

Nope. Its not. As I said to someone else on this poll, my main point is having equality.

Men are allowed to go topless. Thus, I feel women should too.

And as I also said to someone else on this poll, my point is having equality, given the laws that are already in place, not pushing boundaries and making new laws.

If men can go topless, I think women should be able to.

And if one gender can't go topless, then the other gender shouldn't be able to either.

Should they or should they be allowed to do so? I don't care if other guys do, but I think my boys might get a tad uncomfortable without some support. I played catcher in baseball and some football. I sure as heck ain't doing that without some coverage! ;)

It only would create problems because society for some reason has condemned exposure of cleavage. If it were made the norm it would NOT create problems.

I mean you a guy shirtless, what do you think? Probably nothing right? Cause its the norm. No problems created.
