Should Women Be allowed to go topless in public?

In Maine, really? Who wants to expose more to mosquitos and blackflies, let alone perverts. The cooler months do make things a little more perky, though. I do remember reading of a nudist colony in the southern part of the state, but you can't see anything because the bushes are so thick.

You can still get arrested in New York, though, so I wouldn't call it legal exactly.

I prefer the term "topfree" and it should be allowed anywhere a man can go without his shirt.

Breasts are completely natural There is no reason they should be taboo. They're used for feeding kids. If women were permitted to go topless, it wouldn't be taboo anymore. The only way to desexualise something is to make it normal. At first, nationwide toplessness would result in men everywhere going gaga. But after the initial event, the public would become desensitised.

We already expose our kids to too much. Enough is enough.

You realize the original purpose of breasts was FOR kids, right? It's not the kids that are the problem, it's the adults.

As a mother of 2, I'm well aware of their purpose. I agree it's the adults and the outrageous, moronic and ludacris things I've heard come out of adults' mouths when a woman breast feeds. I have heard some of the stupidest, rudest comments possible and they were made around children.

I have no problem with women being topless but not places like the street, shops or anywhere the public go, except in their gardens and on beaches and proberly the beach may be the only suitable place for this....

Well, in an ideal society, yes. There is nothing inherently dirty or shameful about boobs. They aren't even a sex organ...they're a baby bottle. But in the society we live in, it's neither practical nor a good idea.
