Should Wisconsin State Workers Have Equity With Private Sector Workers?
The state workers in Wisconsin need our support. So do the state
workers in Ohio who are about to come under the budget knife.
WE DEMAND EQUITY FOR STATE AND FEDERAL WORKERS, and I mean EQUITY WITH THE PRIVATE SECTOR COUNTERPARTS.
There is a wide gap between what government workers are paid as
compared to those in the private sector. We demand equity for this
disparity, and we demand it right now.

There is a wide disparity between what the state workers pay in
Wisconsin into their retirement as compared to those working in the
private sector. The Republicans in Wisconsin want state workers to pay
5.8% of their wages into their retirement system. Is this fair? Is
this equitable? Compare that to the chump change we pay into Social
Security. We demand equity for this disparity, and we demand it right
now.
There is a wide disparity between what the state workers pay in
Wisconsin for their health care. The Republicans want the Wisconsin
state employees to pay 12.8% of their insurance premiums. That would
mean that their monthly plans that now cost about $85 a month would go
up to $200 a month. We demand equity for this disparity, and we demand
it right now.
Where is the justice?

Medical? Don't even go there. The average worker who's covered pays a big chunk, with the company paying more, which they pay in lieu of salary.
Average teacher salary in Milwaukee - $54,620 http://www.teacher-world.com/...
Average salary in Milwaukee - $33,140 -http://www.simplyhired.com/a...
So by your logic they should get a $21,000 pay cut.
Teacher fringe benefits exceeding averages by 50% http://www.620wtmj.com/shows/...
So I assume you want them to pay 50% more for their benefits too.
I think the tax payers of Wisconsin will agree with you.
