Should we publish the names and addresses of those who support obama, and want to ban weapons

☆astac☆~PWCM 2013/01/05 15:09:47
So we have a liberal progressive publisher who published the names and locations of people who have gun permits. This of course was very stupid, as now the criminals know what homes are not defended (of course liberals are not that bright.)

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-18563_162-57562190/outrage-after-...

a newspaper in suburban New York wanted to answer that question for its readers.
It published a map -- marked with dots -- showing the names and addresses of
handgun permit holders in the area.

So here we have a progressive idiot violating the privacy rights of the people, and then she cries out because she needed to hire armed guards to protect her because of her attack against innocent people

Not days latter we have a democrat politician that wants to do the same thing
He wants to violate the privacy of the people and expose their names and addresses to everyone.

http://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/local/-Lawmakers-Take-on-G...
State Rep. Stephen Dargen, a Democratic legislator from West Haven, wants the names and addresses of about 170,000 handgun permit holders in the state to be made public.

So since the democrats think that this is fair, how about if we identify and publish all known obama and democrat supporters, and then publish that info for all to see.
This would help identifying these people, just think how easier it would be to know who to fire first or who to avoid doing business with. And to top it off, to not be seen as hypocrites, the obama supporters would have to agree to this as being fair

President Obama, congressional Democrats and even some Republicans plan to push new gun-control legislation in the 113th Congress, but defenders of the Second Amendment fear Obama is poised to enact the restrictions through the Executive Branch if Congress is not cooperative.

John M. Snyder heads GunRightsPolicies.org and has worked for organizations from the National Rifle Association to the Second Amendment Foundation and the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. He said Obama and his allies have already chartered what regulatory course to pursue through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, or ATF.

“We have some confidential information that he may order the ATF to reclassify certain models of semi-automatic firearms as Title 2 guns under the Gun Control Act of 1968,” Snyder told WND. “What this would mean is that people could not obtain these without going through a terribly difficult process that includes registration of each firearm and paying a severe fee for the ownership of each one.”

Snyder said an even more drastic approach from Obama would be to try to ban semiautomatic weapons altogether.

“Also, there is the possibility that the administration could try to declare that semi-automatic firearms are fully automatic firearms or machine guns under this Title 2, in which case they would be banned because of an amendment that’s on the books, the Gun Control Act of 1968.

Snyder is referring to what’s known as the Hughes Amendment, which forbids the acquisition of any new fully automatic weapons or machine guns.

The possible strategy is not a new idea, according to Snyder. He said liberal groups have advocated the move for years, but Democrats have been reluctant to pursue it because of the massive public backlash that will ensue.

“This is an ongoing project of theirs, and they use a lot of these tragedies to try to advance their cause in a public relations sense. So far they’ve been unable to do that,” said Snyder. “It appears that the public is catching on to them and they know what their game plan is, generally speaking. So a lot depends on their frustration, the political situation at the time and a number of other factors, too.”

Even if the Obama administration were to bypass Congress by imposing new regulations, there is still one card left for pro-Second Amendment forces to play: The House of Representatives could remove funding for the ATF or abolish it completely. But would the House GOP actually do that? Snyder is confident it would.

“I wouldn’t be surprised. I think the House is really furious with the president,” Snyder said. “The Republicans would like to cut budgets of the federal government because they think the federal government is taking too much money and spending too much money, and a good place for them to cut would be in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. If there is strong enough public support against the activities of the federal government, the House of Representatives will develop a plan to slash the budget of the agency. I think it’s a real possibility.”

SECONDED! Start the presses! Seriously, though, do you honestly believe the same reporters would publish your proposed list. I will venture a guess - Uhhh, NO. This doesn't fit into the liberal agenda, even with the reciprocal release of the names of conservative supporters.

In short - No. Any liberal, progressive, moderate, conservative or libertarian, pro gun control, or anti- gun control have the right to express their opinion and political viewpoints in this country freely, and without fear of doing so. Although I personally oppose intrusive, rigorous gun-control, I think that this is little more than bullying on the part of some individuals.
Ultimately this whole silly idea will do nothing to alter people's views, only increase friction in the country and divisiveness. I would say to both sides on this matter, Pro gun control, and anti-gun control that you have to take your ideas, and present them on the Market of Free Ideas, without harassment, without fear and without contravention of privacy laws.

You never cease to amuse me, astac. You criticize the "liberal progressive" for violating the privacy of gun permit holders, then turn around and encourage privacy right violations against innocent unarmed people. What do you think will happen if you expose a person as unarmed? Do you not think that criminals will start targetting marked unarmed targets for profit? Do you, the holy child for the extreme conservative right and so-called "defender of liberty", want to be the cause of turmoil and exploitation of innocent Americans? You are completely wrong in this case - Individual right to privacy should be defended regardless of whether or not you agree with a person's views or affiliation..
