I generally oppose general, broad, or absolute government bans. Most often they cause more harm than good.

There is no reason why such a market shouldn't be legal, but subject to close and transparent oversight (this can be public and/or private oversight, mind you) to ensure that it is not harmful itself, nor does it cause significant tangential harm.

But we should go after those who pay big bucks for organs when they know they've come from elsewhere.

I don't want them killing me,and claiming I died to harvest organs for sale. It's happened before, mostly homeless people and the parts went south of the border or overseas, but with the gene typing they can do at hospitals now, they could match you up with someone ahead of time that could pay their astronomical fees and you're dead. They could have someone shoot you near where they remove them to make sure your organs are still viable when you come in and they take them. They make huge fees off organs. Even if it's legal there would be a black market and too many risks of corruption and theft.

It is a marketable commodity, if you are foolish enough to sell what you may require someday, more power to you. It would lessen the black market and also lessen medical tourism.

% of selling and buying is too small . Donors are not available . Some stray cases where some one is ready to sell ...... if legalized ...... shall refrain to do so . Once the word LEGAL COMES ....... the governance has huge problems

I shudder to think of the illegal harvesting that could follow.....and those who might be deprived of a needed organ because they weren't the highest bidder.....

NO. It could lead to the black market activity which is already in place. Some of these illegal harvesting groups have taken people alive and taken their organs WITHOUT CONSENT and before they died. And, not long ago on the news there was a young man in Asia somewhere who sold a kidney of his so he could buy and ipad or some other expensive such thing. Of all the stupid things this kid could have done. He put his own life at risk, and he also committed a crime. The authorities there are going after this group who bought his kidney as we speak. Young kids like this one have no idea what they're up against. They could have died, and for what? An expensive toy they think they have to have? I hope people think twice before doing this.
