I joined the military the day JFK was assassinated.I am a Vietnam veteran.
We are borrowing the money that it takes to occupy 130 PLUS countries, borrowing money to GIVE foreign aid, and paying $500,000,000.00 DAILY FOR INTEREST ON OUR NATIONAL DEBT.
WE could do more damage with 4 aircraft spraying 24D (weed killer) in Afghanistan and we're paying millions to keep them from selling (what they are selling on a mass capacity).
HERE NEEDS FIXING, MORE MONEY THAT WE BORROW
WILL NOT WORK.
A CREDIT CARD CAN not pay off a debt.
We GIVE aid (in the form of money) for our companies to outsource. FIX HERE, NOT THE WORLD.....ALPEAUX

Also from many things I have read. I believe that much like south Korea the people would be today far better served had we succeeded. Communism has been tried in all it's various forms for over a hundred years with out true success for the people. Man has tried everything you can think of and the newest idea after all the research is capitalism and the free market. What if we tried to bring the world up to our standards instead of bring the united states down to theirs? I'm rambling sorry. I believe that if you want to change a nation from being a 7th century relic, one would have to have to win the war, settle the population, set up a government, help build an army to defend its self, then maintain bases there for at least 3 generations (measuring each generation on a 20 year span). See like muslims I think a free nation and a free market is the best way to go for the individual. The problem with the elites is they can't understand why you might like to mudding on saturdays.
training theirs.
We were done the day we got saddam. should have packed up and shipped out that very night. Leave them to their hell. They went to great pains to make it what it is today, They don't want it fixed. They hate us even more for trying. They don't see anything that needs fixing. It's not America. Stop trying to make it America and bring the boys back home.
no because if we leave now that we are over there, people might be dependent on the US military being over there
yes because we really cant afford to have so many troops over there being killed and used
All the billions sent to Afghanistan, and Pakistan wound up creating a strong corrupt government helping the Taliban become more powerful. Let us face facts; Gen. McChrystal could not do the job; no general is going to make any difference. When Obama became U.S. President I never expected him to escalate more war; he was too weak to say no to the Pentagon, now he is stuck. Our troops could be fighting the Taliban for many years. Taliban also use innocent citizens as shields. Nothing is being accomplished accept wasting more money, and lives, inviting more terror attacks against the United States. You cannot fight such diversity of culture and factions.
Seriously folks are these the people we need to win the hearts and minds of? WHY?
