Afghanistan is now considered a non-Nato ally and the US has pledged to 16 BILLION dollars to show our commitment to building Afghanistan. It is very important to maintain good relationships in that key region for National Security. We need to combat Afghan unemployment and poverty as it could lead some to terrorism.
afghanistan poor food

At the same time, we have proposed cuts to SNAP, the food assistance program that helps the elderly. Over 3 MILLION seniors would go hungry, if it wasn't for this program. And they very well might.

seniors

So I wanna know what you think? I know it's a tough choice, but please vote right now, leave a comment, share with all your friends and don't forget to RAVE!!!!!

Afghanistans chose a god that allows them to suffer, that promotes the subjugation of women, that sends its women & children in front of its men to be shot at or blown up in the name of that god, & that promises the men 70 virgins in heaven & the women get nothing. The Afghanistans have made their choice.

I really don't care about afghanistan! I care about the people her in the US! We need to take care of ourselves first! Isn't that what they say on airplanes "Take care to put your mask on before you help someone else". Or if there is an accident take care of yourself first. Can't care for others unless you yourself is okay first. Our country isn't okay yet! Once we are okay we can than take care of other countries.

I thought this is a trick question *wink*

I don't know why any of our troops are in the primitive hellhole getting killed and maimed for nothing. Those throwbacks don't appreciate or want us there, its damaging our troops and costing us billions if not trillions.

Besides when we leave it will eventually go back to square one. Let them rot worry about our own and secure our borders. Halt all muslim immigration!

Most freedom fighters are fighting for their homes and people.

Some use it to invade and ethnically cleanse people from their homes.

What we should be doing and what we are doing are two different stories. We will be in Afghanistan as longer than we have been in Germany. About half constructed, with up to 30,000 contractors being mobilized, Camp America will have a runway with a Space Shuttle capacity. This base is huge, located near Camp Marmal. So even if solders come home the action will be privatized. More than 100,000 contractors are already there.

most of the world can fend for themselves. over there though they face what a lot of us dont. America got mixed up with Afghanistan gave them the weapons and the knowledge to use them, Now the rest of the world is sending in troops to help end something that was started by your government in the first place. so we (most of the rest of the world) ok, we can fend for ourselves.

When did a Republican become concerned about feeding hungry senior citizens here? For years the Party of No and "conservatives" have been pleading and fighting to end the
assistance to seniors, such as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, and
other assistance to these labeled "free loaders" by Fox network, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Michael Savage, Ron Reagan, Ron Paul, Rick Santorum, and a dozen other leaders and spokesmen for the party. Is this post just an election year fantasy without purpose?

No joke here Ambassador. I just rolled two questions into one. I want to us to pull out of Afghanistan and I want us to cut wasteful spending, not essential programs.

C'mon you know the answer to that question. Obviously, the SNAP program is essential. Almost 30% of elderly depend on the program for food assistance.
I'm saying, let's rebuild this country FIRST, before we go rebuilding someone else's.

We were doing quite well with our programs at home, until the right wing decided to destroy what our ancestors took 200 years to develop. Until Ronald Reagan told the "head dead" that "Government is the problem" the nation was well united in it's efforts in many ways. Then, a splinter group of radicals picked up on Reagan's little motto and began the destructive "conservative" thingy that has divided the resolve of the nation into a half dozen factions, all claiming to be "the right way", "the Founder's way", "the patriots' way", yadda yadda.

In spite of the RWNJ opposition, we still have some left over to help those humans in other places who feel the pain of starvation, disease, and early death from things we can control. While Americans' great health problems arise from obesity and too much to eat, millions starve to death every year across the world. Do you see the moral wrong and unjustified greed in that picture?

Believe me Ambassador, I understand. To whom much is given, much shall be required. I am not saying that Libertarianism is the only way. There are good ideas from all sides, Conservative, Liberal, Libertarian, etc...

But the role of our govt is to provide for the general welfare of the people of:
    A) Afghanistan
    B) The United States of America
    C) The entire world?

America is owned and controlled by corporations. The only reason for a corporation to exist is to make a profit for it's shareholders. Our entire
reason to exist, or only purpose, is to make a profit for corporations. The
profits must come from goods and services purchased by consumers. So, in this commonly accepted world of the right wing of American politics, there are millions of citizens out there screaming their heads off and pleading for more and greater profits to be taken from persons like themselves, many of whom live at or below the poverty line themselves, living in rusting tin boxes in "villages" or on a piece of rural red clay soil too poor to grow cotton. For some unknown reason they admire those who take their wealth and sell them a story that they are "patriots" or "good Americans". After that, all is conflict in their world, opposing anything and everything that might improve their lot or raise the tide of the nation.

It is often said that some people are simply born to be poor, and others born to remain stupid. We have an oversupply of all of these and they are pretty argumentative and hostile.
