I think they are letting him look stoopid so that when he is replaced as pick for VP (God knows Ryan will DESTROY Biden in a debate) the uneducated voters will all go "see? It was Biden all along. This is a different ticket now.....".

I think it is necessary for both candidates, to keep their VP's out there speaking out for the parties policies. One man can't do it. Too many places to go, too many things to do, too many people to reach out to.
