Here is the thing with Israel. They are a country which is surrounded by enemies that have openly said they want to wipe Israel off the map. We also have countries that border us on the north and south but, we have the natural resources to build a military and provide our own energy. Israel does not have those resources. If we do not provide aid they will die. Are you saying it would not bother you to turn your back and let millions of people die? As a Christian nation that would not be the moral thing to do. I think we could ask for a little more in return. I am with Ron Paul in that we should pull our troops out of the many countries we are in but, I would also see the benefit of having a training bases in Israel.

I think that you could make the same argument in a lot of places. Also, that doesn't take into account the people that we kill or the future enemies of America that are born out of this policy. I think we're not the world police, I think that Israel can carry its own, and I think that if you're a Christian then you should have faith that God can carry them.

This is not a Yes or No answer for me. It isn't that the US government helps fund Israel defense that bothers me so much as the no-strings-attached funding. I'm certain that our tax dollars should not support an Israeli nuclear strike on Iran, for example. But even if such an action were to take place and the US government verbally condemned the action, I don't think it would make one whit's difference in our financial support of it.
