Should US Senators & US Congressmen, the Executive branch, the Cabinet, & the Judiciary should take responsibility for themselves by paying their own health insurance & life insurance, take a 15% cut in pay, a 25% cut in pensions only good for 10 years?

That sounds about right to me. I live in Nebraska. And we have just implemented term limits in our unicameral. It seems to me as though Congress and Senate should follow the example above. We can only hope and pray that things get better and vote, vote, vote!

Hey I voted. I messed upped the early voting dates. I was on the way to the stables to ride when the news said it was the last day of early voting. So help me I made certain I skirted into the local library to vote. You don't know all this Chicago stuff; I sailed into the John Merlo Library (I knew him very well as a volunteer Saturday receptionist in the 44th Ward.) Anyway I had an Updike novel to read on hand. Updike is not my favorite read but sometimes you are reading. I stood, I waited, I read. When I left the lines were snaking as if they were waiting to see Jaws! We won big in Illinois but ultimately it may as well be Nazi Germany. If you are not right of the right you are dead. If the Conservatives want to cancel health care reform (I don't like it myself because it's not single payer.) & they want to give the most wealthy their tax cuts, & undo all kinds of conservation for land & animals. Great! Can I have what I want? Legal voluntary euthansia so I do not have to lay awake night after night wondering when I will be homeless. We did lose our senator in Illinois. Roland Burris (who had no reason to take office) was replaced by Kirk. Kirk lied about his military service. Kirk cares about no one except his money. Know what? Kirk has an excellent record with animal rights!!! Please just shoot me as long as animals are OK. Sorry to unload on you. OXs Gloria

I'm also mad that they can vote themselves a pay raise... actually, it's automatic unless they vote to stop it.

I sent my Rep an email about it, saying that it should be up to the voters to approve, since they work for us. Haven't heard a peep......

Heck yes but we both know that'll never happen. Also they should all be required to get Gov't security clearances also but they won't because if they did half of them would lose their jobs.

I guess no one cares except us! No wonder the elected officials are out of control.

Well I don't think it's that no one cares, I think people are getting burned out on sodahead by the constant bombardment of political polls and questions.

My congressman, Mike Quigley, well not him - his office wouldn't tell me what his position is on mandatory health care insurance. I am starting every poll & signing every position there is.
