No one has done more to threaten the future of deep offshore drilling than BP
.
They have been sited 760 times in the last 3 years for safety violations. Next company only 8 times.
One fine alone was 303 million for filling fraudulent reports to cover up the death of 30 of their own employees in Texas. Now another 11 workers have been killed in this disaster.
Plans a,b,c,d, and e, demonstrate that they have no workable plan to stop the spewing of this oil. The only hope is the 2 relief wells they are mandated to drill, that will be completed in August
BP and deep water offshore drilling is not only unsafe, it is threat to a way of life and the gulf states environmental security.
The Coast Guard said the burn is expected to remove "large quantities of oil" following the April 20 explosion that resulted in the sinking of the $600 million rig and the presumed death of 11 missing workers. The well has been leaking an estimated 1,000 barrels of oil a day.
