ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates -- The main public advisory body in
the United Arab Emirates says it will push for stronger measures to
discourage revealing clothing worn by tourists and others in the Gulf's
most socially liberal country.

The Federal National Council backed the proposal Tuesday after the
country's culture minister, Abdulrahman al-Owais, supported efforts to
emphasis the conservative traditions of the UAE – which is now home to
nearly all of the world's nationalities in cosmopolitan centers such as
Dubai.

Yes, it's the polite and safe thing to do no matter what country you are visiting, and visitors to America should respect our culture and traditions also. Like that old saying......when in Rome....

Wow, what an amazing area of the world to just write off. The Fertile Crescent is also known as the birthplace of civilization. Ancient Egypt. Ethiopia. Bahrain....whose capitol is an incredible city. Kuwait. I'll bet you couldn't even name all the Arab countries, but you say no one should visit. How about Indonesia?

Follow the $$, you'll find a sizable percentage comes from right here. Terrorists have no particular country allegiance, only to their 'Leader'. So why dump on an entire culture for the extremists amongst them? That'd be like hating the whole US for the WBC!

Yes, most here do, but many don't and I wasn't limiting that to only Arabs or Middle Easterners. Recently a letter was sent out to students at GW University in Washington requesting that American students not comment on foul smelling foreign students that don't shower, because it is not common practice where they come from. This, to me, is ridiculous, they are here and should follow our standards while they are here.

Of course they should do the same, then, when they visit the USA ---- let the Arab women wear tank tops and shorts to the beach and Walt Disney World! (Of course we know that won't happen because it's their way only! No room for other beliefs or social trends.)

or they would not try and exert their crazy mosques and other extremist practices on the countries they go to
best of all don't go to the horrible deadly places !!! there are a LOT better places to go to without having to deal with excessively stupid and extremist people who spend most of their time shooting each other or blowing each other up
