Should the USA suspend democracy until the economy recovers?
Democrats say yes!

Remember all the insane allegations that Bush was a dictator?

cancel elections

To my knowledge, Republicans never called for the end of democracy...or just a temporary suspension.

Why would the Democrats who only a few years ago cry shrill screams of 'dictator!' at Bush then suddenly oppose elections?

Let me see...why would the Democrats not want to have elections....?

Could this be why?

Here is Obama's director of the OMB, a huge leftist and of course a Democrat on why the answer to America's problems is LESS democracy.

"To solve the serious problems facing our country, we need to minimize
the harm from legislative inertia by relying more on automatic policies
and depoliticized commissions for certain policy decisions. In other
words, radical as it sounds, we need to counter the gridlock of our
political institutions by making them a bit less democratic
."

Wait what? 'a bit less democratic'? You mean like no voting?

A sitting government official wants to decrease democracy a little? WTH?

Yes, that's exactly what liberals mean:

"Speaking to a Cary Rotary Club today, N.C. Gov. Bev Perdue suggested
suspending Congressional elections for two years so that Congress can
focus on economic recovery and not the next election.

"I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two
years and just tell them we won't hold it against them, whatever
decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. I
really hope that someone can agree with me on that," Perdue said. "You
want people who don't worry about the next election
."

The economy sucks BECAUSE of the current administration and it's anti business agenda. Keeping the same people in power will only guarantee that the situation does not improve. In my opinion, it will make the situation worse.

No, we should just have Nobama impeached along with his acorns. Get Biden to nominate Palin as V.P. (this would make Biden the most protected President ever). After Congress confirms Palin as V.P. then suspend Congress & the Cabinet , without pay, until the end of each of their terms.
You ask who would run the country then. Heck we've not had anyone running the country ( except the private Financial Interests - with OUR money) since 2006.After Congress' terms run out, then elect a GOOD & HONEST & IMPARTIAL Senate & House, excluding ANYONE claiming to be a Democrat; Republician; Progressive Liberal; Or Conservative. There are plenty of qualified Americans that can fill those positions, who do not go by any of 'Those' labels.
There are Independents;moderates; libertarians; constitutionalists ( these are TERMS that most Anericans try to live by , not labels). Although I'm sure the "Main Stream" media will immediately come up with Other Labels, as this is the only way they can apparently tell their people from the Good Guys (and Gals).
Remember, if you Can't vote for it - vote Against it // JUST VOTE !!!

You drop the subsidize and see how fast the oil companies sell their farms. We are paying for acres that were never going to be planted. Some not even capable of bringing a crop. Let the oil and Gas Companies drill Open up Anwar. There is nothing there. The herds that were suppose to disappear at the other sites have multiplied. and may need to be thinned. There are 23 nuclear plants that have been designed license them. Then we can ship our coal to China. We will not need oil from our enemies. Fix the loophole in the tax code and get rid of all the hidden taxes we pay. Everyone with an income should pay 1% as a minimum. Get rid of this redistribution of wealth. Our steel industry is gone for 2 reason. Over regulation and Union demands. You can pick which ever you want to fix. I would fix the over regulation and and eliminate the inventory tax. This would level the field for the Companies to negotiate. I have lots more but this is enough.

Instead make the United States more democratic by reducing the pay of those in government and eliminate payments to any former government employees, except for social security and retirement plans which they themselves paid for.

This is the ultimate admission of defeat for the Democrats. They know they are losing and are going to be unemployed, when the next election rolls around, so they are trying to persuade people to give them another chance, by keeping their elected positions and their paychecks. Sounds like a step in the Communist direction. Remember, democracy is "...of the people, by the people, for the people...". Not, of the government, by the government, for the government. What an absurd idea! The NC Governor should be fired!

Of course the Democrats would like to stop the next election. We've seen what they do when they have absolute control of the government. Who is their heroes? Chavez, Mao, Castro...None of them believed in Democracy either.

Besides, don't they realize we don't live in a Democracy? It is a Constitutional Republic. Only a government school "graduate" would even think we live in a "Democracy". That was one thing that the Founding Fathers wanted to avoid at all costs because Democracies are doomed to fail.

Making yourself a dictator under the guise of trying to save democracy doesn't add up, the two cannot co-exist. Assuming that one leader is mature and honest enough to exercise absolute power, who is to say someone else in his power circle wouldn't try and pretend they are a medevil prince?

I think that would be a good idea because polotics dose not make for good economics. It seems to me that the dems. and the republicans seem to just want to fight over everything no matter how good of an idea it maybe. They need to agree to disagree to make this country better and get our economy going then we can worry about polotics.

"polotics dose" not make for good spelling either apparently.

Suspending elections to keep the party that caused the worst economy in a century in power makes no sense. The Democrats want to blame Bush for the economy but the economy did not take a nose dive until the Democrats took complete control of Congress in 2008.

We have to get someone in office that knows how to create jobs and restore our economy. We can't all work in the Obama Administration. obama jobs
