Should the USA help to bail out Spain?

luigi1- in god we trust 2012/06/10 11:10:56
Yes. The USA should match the EU's share.
No. We already bailed out Greece. Nothing to show.
Maybe. If the EU goes under...the USA will follow.

This is never ending. First Greece, now Spain then Italy. They're all dominoes ready to fall. Giving them money will only buy a few more days or weeks untill the axe falls.

We have no business bailing anyone out, we have our own issues to sort out at home before we even THINK about messing around in other people's business...

I have doubts that we would get it back if we did.

For that matter, should the European Union (EU) stay as it is or should parts of it drop off?

Germany would probably prefer the EU as it is since the weak countries make their exports more cost competitive. If they dropped out of the union, Germany would loose this export advantage because the Euro (or German Deutschmark if the EU broke up) would be greatly strengthened.

Nevertheless, The World Bank will loan to the EU again. Over 80% of WB funding is by the USA taxpayers.

They get bailed out & send us the tab.

Your right. (PIGS)Portugal, Ireland, Greece & Spain could care less about our woes.

Not far behind the PIGS are Italy, Poland & the former Eastern Bloc nations.

The EU is dying. Handouts will not stop the spiraling out of control death, only delay it.

Agree. The USA & Germany bailed out Greece twice with nothing to show for it.

All it did was buy Greece a few weeks of opperating funds.

Now Greece is back asking for more handouts.

This is a neverending bottomless pit we are throwing our tax Dollars into.

The EU & USA bailed out Greece then it slapped us in the face by leaving the EU & going it alone. We have nothing to show for our hard earned taxes but more wasted debts.

Let's help ourselves first, then get healthy so we can help others later on.
