Should the US Stop Funding Israel's Genocide Against the Palestinians ?

Imagine life under these conditions:

Living in limbo under a foreign occupier. Having no self-determination, no right of return, and no power over your daily life. Being in constant fear, economically strangled, and collectively punished.

Having your free movement denied by enclosed population centers, closed borders, regular curfews, roadblocks, checkpoints, electric fences, and separation walls. Having your homes regularly demolished and land systematically stolen to build settlements for encroachers in violation of international law prohibiting an occupier from settling its population on conquered land.

Having your right to essential services denied - to emergency health care, education, employment, and enough food and clean water. Being forced into extreme poverty, having your crops destroyed, and being victimized by punitive taxes. Having no right for redress in the occupier's courts under laws only protecting the occupier.

Being regularly targeted by incursions and attacks on the ground and from the air. Being willfully harassed, ethnically cleansed, arrested, incarcerated, tortured, and slaughtered on any pretext, including for your right of self-defense. Having no rights on your own land in your own country for over six decades and counting. Vilified for being Muslims and called terrorists, Jihadists, crazed Arabs, and fundamentalist extremists. Victimized by a slow-motion genocide to destroy you.

Israel is a serial human rights international law abuser. The UN Human Rights Commission affirms that it violates nearly all 149 articles of the Fourth Geneva Convention that governs the treatment of civilians in war and under occupation and is guilty of grievous war crimes.

The issue as I see it is that it takes both sides completely to have peace and only one rocket fired from either side to kill peace.

I am not sure how but there needs to be a structural change that makes peace more of a normal thing and not an exceptional one in the area in and around Israel.

Jerusalem should be deemed an international city under the UN or a similar organization, to be the capital city for two states, the State of Israel and the State of Palestine.

Kind of, but that was a little different. That was a city divided in half to be ruled by two different governments. Jerusalem could be an international city controlled by the UN, but be an economic capital for both states.

I am for it but we would have to convince Israel and Palestine to agree....and they have too much invested in constant conflict. Until we can show a "Peace Dividend" in coming together in unity I think progress is likely to be by chance rather than design.

Israel is our only real ally and friend in the Middle East. Saudi Araba, Qatar, UAE are trading partners of the U. S. The others have no large standing Army, Air Power or military threatening the OPEC supply line to Europe or the rest of the world.
We liberated Iraq but they may implode since we have left them to their questionalbe destiny. Syria may be on the verge of collapse with their despot killing his own. The rest of these nations are Arab countries with monarchy rule-Joradn, radical muslims-Lebanon or Iran-terroirst inspired autocracies. We made Israel a Nuclear Power and we must support them forever.

I understand your point but I would ask again; Is it a morally defensible position? I.E. sacrificing a minority for the sake of the majority.
Let's face it, that part of the world has been in turmoil for centuries and to think we can have much influence among those various countries may be a pipe dream at best.

I suggest you study more about Israel and their struggles to attain what they have now. I am retired U. S. Military and do not have time to educate you on SH. i was in Iraq and Afghanistan front line, also. Israel is like another world you cannot understand. Unless you are Jewish, which I seriously doubt, then just say the Palestinians are Arab and many are terrorists !

Palestinians are not Arabs. Palestinians come from Palestine, and Arabs came from Arabia. The overwhelming majority of Arabs are not terrorists.
