Eliminate it! (1) We're 16 trillion in debt and can't afford it. (2) They hate us, don't share our values. (3) Nor should we arm and train them to shoot our sons in the back. Enough!! Energy Independence NOW!! Let's see how much trouble they cause when Americans don't need their oil anymore ...

#(3) Now that's a good idea. But we have to elect someone other than our current President to have that happen. Get your friends out to vote for Romney. And let's not send any more oil drilling money to South or Central America. They won't sell us their oil that we paid them to drill for anyway, thanks to Mr. Obama. Oh wait, didn't he say we should be come energy independent? Then why the heck did he send BILLIONS of our tax dollars to Brasil, Argentina, Columbia and Mexico so they could improve their oil drilling operations, only to sell the product to China?!?!

Yes, why are or do we have to support Foreign countries anyway? We need to worry about our own country First, alot of issues to bring our country to the Most Beautiful & Rich. We have given alot of countries the Tools for democracy if they want to fight & they don't get it so be it. We have alot of issues in our own country to deal with. Life goes on, and Everyone can do their part in cleaning up the streets, etc. :)

The United States should stop all aid to Libya and Egypt. Let these countries solve their own problems.

What I should've said was this: the United Stes should "end" all aid to Libya and Egypt.

At the very least, we should use any money we provide to get what we want or don't send it. Strings should be attached and monitored and if bargains are not kept, aid is withheld. We must look to the rest of the world like a bunch of rich, stupid rubes.

We should supply aid only to countries that a) really need it (why are we sending money to countries doing better than we are these days?); b) don't stab us in the back; c) are not duplicitous in their dealings with us (don't say one thing and do another - kind of like Obama does here).

We shouldn't send aid to any country at this time whether they really need it or not. All this aid should go to helping, feeding and clothing ourselves at home.

some suggest that cutting off aid will only HURT our relations. And, it could be worse. But continuing aid WILL NOT make it better. I say, cut it off. Appeasement and Apology doesn't seem to work for Obama's "strategy."

I don't think we believe we are buying friendship. But we probably think we can buy a certain amount of compliance - unfortunately, where people have illogical responses to the slightest insults, all normal international relations go out the window. If you are among the leaders of a country with a bunch of nasties firing up a bunch of crazies, it is probably hard to stand up to them while they are all fired up. Unfortunately, the leaders (nasties) of the crazies are ALWAYS firing them up - it's almost too easy - and they need that as a hammer to get what they want.

Should eliminate it all together, It's stupid, we borrow from China to send the money over there and it's Taxpayers money. I pay my taxes and I damn sure don't want it to be given to another country.

There should be another answer: "undecided".

Maybe that cutting financial help might remind these mobs that they are biting the hands which are feeding them. Unfortunately, there is too much intoxication of the masses, which will rather listen to the lies of extremists. And are all these financial subsides used for the people, for the improvement of their life conditions?

But what people ought to know first is that a government cannot always control extremism and fanatism on either side. There is a dangerous shifting of responsibilities, while religious fanatism is interfering with politics, democracy and human rights.

Blaming the Libyan and Egyptian governments for the rioting is every bit as stupid as blaming the US government for that video. In fact, those governments are enforcing their laws as best they can, but are often being overwhelmed by unruly mobs which outnumber the police.
  • hamm36 Nikkiru 2012/09/15 23:24:33
    hamm36
Maybe those governments should condemn the riots and put a stop to it. No, they are aging it on by doing nothing, and those governments have stated it is all blamed on the movie, not the people burning, killing, and destroying the US Embassies.

Lybia and Egypt governments are supposed to protect our embassies and our Counselors that are there just like we have to protect their embassies that are here in America. We should not have to send in the Marines to protect our people they should be doing that . We need to just get out of there and let them dry rot.

Our nation should distance itself from that entire portion of the planet. We should remove our military forces and our financial aid entirely from the Middle East, allowing those people the freedom to sort out their own differences and decide upon their own future without U.S. interference. Our meddling in the part of the world has brought us nothing but death and destruction.

people thought that last year's Arab Spring would bring democracy to the Middle East. It did nothing of the of the sort. The former government of Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak was corrupt and tyrannical but far more stable and much less repressive than the current Muslim Brotherhood. Mubarak continued to honor the Camp David of 1979 and maintained good diplomatic relations with the Jewish State of Israel; this new govenment is anti-Israel and wants to destroy as do most of the new governments in the Middle East. They are Islamic extremists of the worse kind.

And who do you think arranged it so that the Egyptian army ousted Mubarak? And then who used our aid dollars to get the Egyptian army to allow "free" elections? And who already knew that the Muslim Brotherhood would most likely take over in Egypt? If you guessed our current head of state, you'd be correct. So why would he do such a seemingly illogical thing - replace an American-friendly dictator with a radical Islamic organization? Read the book "Obama's America - the unmaking of the American dream" and you'll know.
  • bt sedlock jerztar... 2012/09/17 05:15:19
    bt sedlock
Thank you. I'll look into reading that book. And I didn't have to guess that Obama knew about the Muslim Brotherhood's plans of taking over Egypt.
