each country should fend for themselves and America needs to stop giving so much it's not our duty or place. When there is a disaster or something then we can help out with what ever is needed.
We should have stayed out of WWI, we destroyed 2 Empires that would have kept Europe stabelized. Life would be so much better for the rest of the world if the US had wrapped itself up behind our Navy in WWII after we had withdrawn from the Philippines in the late 1930s.
Hitler and Stalin, Tojo and many others were really decent guys that would have stayed that way if the US had minded their own business. But we were just too beligerent.
That means that we would have had to severely restrict immigration to the US. It sends the wrong message. Liberals claim our culture is no better than any other nation, at best and at the worst in most cases our culture is sub-standard. Every time we allow someone asylum here, we are saying that we are better than you.
We no longer need to send disaster relief supplies anywhere because the US does is get in the way or screw thing up beyond repair.
Rest assured folks; those days are gone, nothing but an unpleasant memory.
We can start by making amends. Send home the illegal aliens, all 30 million of them.
Dominate the world militarily and economically? When has that ever happen? Clinton signed NAFTA and GATT into law. If we don't export goods or tax imports, how can any nation survive? So, so much for our economy.
Clinton was also responsible for hundreds of military base closings and the downsizing of our forces here and abroad. We're spread so thin right now that we've had to deploy our Nat'l Guards to fight our wars in the Middle East. U.S. Navy ports have all but emptied out. Many empty military bases are being remodeled and converted as if to hold people for unknown purposes.
Sounds to me like you want our POTUS to go on another apology tour.
We do not want the weak image that Obama likes. Theodore Roosevelt is credited for saying that you should "speak softly and carry a big stick". How true that is today.
American isolationism in the 1930s was a major factor resulting in WWII. Isolationists advocated non-involvement in European and Asian conflicts and non-entanglement in international politics. We hear the same arguments today – even as Americans are killed abroad and, on September 11, 2001, here at home.
Look at America now. All going down the toilet. They are already dragging other countries with them. Who won the war against terror? The US certainly never came close. The last thing all other countries need is the US to interfere in the money department. Guess it's the NWO coming fast.
In most cases we should let many if not most nations alone. We do not need them nor the burden of buying their false alliance. If trade and mutual assistance is there fine but if a nation dislikes us than screw them.
Yes because the rest of the world is too stupid to figure out that if they work together, build alliances and take control of their monetary policy (especially dumping the dollar as reserve currency) than we will be helpless without them.
They are too busy fighting with each other to figure out that we need them much more than they need us.
Example: If all Latin American countries banded together and refused to sell food to the U.S. the American people would starve.
It's all written in the 48 laws of power.
The weaker you are The easier you fall, Its not going to persuade the world to like us because we are weaker But it will persuade them to attacks us The stronger the military mite the less the problem
Rule with a big stick? Sometimes you can get a stick that is too big to carry, it is hard to have so many vested military intrests in so many regions. just my 2 cents
Many of our European friends will not like this answer, but America has really become a stop-gap against western global monetary collapse. Why do we still have troops in Germany? We need to stop being the military force for other countries. It hurts us economically. Americans don't want to be the worlds baby sitter, but we also don't want to become irrelevant in the century of China's rise.
Military no but strong enough to do anything we need to get done. Economicly It should be like the olympic the best should win and everyone should try to be the best because it is what drives jobs and their ecomonies and ultimately their country. Right?
I don't think the American people want to be the policeman or the defender of the world. Maybe years ago it was possible but those days are over. With all the weapons out there, all the people who are starving, undereducated, religious zealots wanting to kill us, I don't see how we could do it even if we wanted to. I think it's more important now to look after our own people.
I don't see it being of much importance, China is the only country that comes close to us militarily.. Economically we'll be close enough too.
Funny observation, most if not all of the Yes votes are the typical RWNJ's..
With the possible exception of WWII, every where we have interfered has resulted in loss of prestige, more enemies and more animosity being turned towards us. and only through the constant infusion of US dollars can we say we have some allies (perhaps with the exception of the UK). Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Nicaragua, Panama, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Cuba, the list goes on. What would happen if we stopped paying the to be our friends?
Meantime the infusion of US dollars into other countries have resulted in our present financial mess, schools that are ineffectual, decaying infrastructure, increasing poverty, less access to medical care, a generation of kids so far below the rest of the world in the maths and sciences that we have to keep importing foreign graduates to work here (think doctors and nurses, IT specialists), a mounting number of unemployed people while more and more jobs and manufacturing are being sent overseas and a growing section of the country that only cares where their next fix is coming from.
Hell, we cant even run our own country and finances!
We are not a nation of losers. We are about the only nation that still gives billions to our enemies, and one of the few nations that support individual initiative and excellence.
I am happy with our domination. I can't imagine living under another nation's dominant influence.
I realize our economic domination is in jeopardy because of our debt and our ability to pay it off is also dwindling. We need to do some serious course correction economically.
In the absence of a militarily powerful superpower, things will get worse very quick. That superpower does not have to be the United States, but the United States is the only nation able to project the force needed. If that need is not met, other nefarious forces will fill that vacuum.
Very possible, but China has its own problems: corruption and pissing off its Pacific maritime neighbors. We can still put 10 aircraft carrier task groups on station around the world. No other nation even comes close to that. Russia's navy looks great at the Democratic convention, but in fact it's little more than a few poorly maintained rusting hulks.
Hitler and Stalin, Tojo and many others were really decent guys that would have stayed that way if the US had minded their own business. But we were just too beligerent.

Overstreaching their influence
