We need to do everything we can to decrease our dependance on foreign oil and I think drilling offshore is part of that along with all the other fuel soources...

It is imperative that we do everything possible to achieve independence from foreign oil sources. It could be disastrous if we don't and suddenly our sources are cut off. We need employment and oil right here and right now. Later could be too late!

I do believe we should also explore all the other possibilities too but don't rule out drilling!

Do you want to be without transportation if we have severe gas shortages?
How will the railways and truckers get supplies to us if there isn't gas enough to deliver our goods?

Yes, we need to drill offshore, but not in protected waters! The oil companies already have leases to millions of acres of oil fields offshore yet they are only drilling on 17% of it. None of those existing leases are restricted or covered by the current moratoriums on new offshore drilling. They are already covered by EPA reviews and all the necessary environment protections. They have the permits and paperwork.

The only thing that is holding them back is greed and politics.
