A left-wing activist ripped off the head of the Adolf Hitler wax figure in the Berlin affiliate of Madame Tussauds and shouted ‘Never again war!’ Prosecutors want to charge him with wilful damage to property (the figure cost over $300,000).

He damaged somebody else's property. Of course he should be punished. Regardless what the object was or what it represents. The point he made was a good one. He chose the wrong way to make it.

that left wing activist needs to pay for the crime that he commited which was destroying property that belonged to someone else.
The wax figure was being used as a reference piece for educational and historic reasons, not promoting war or being a Nazi.
