My First thought is of course they should release it the public has a right to know and that is their job. Absolutely! Bring it on LA Times! We still have free speech in this country. The media calls this sort of thing an "attack" against Obama, but I say it is only information that we need to hear to make a decision on who to vote for. I also want to say about the question of "racism". Unfortunately, a lot of African Americans have become, through the years, what they called the whites: "racists" Example: Rev. White, Jesse Jackson (another "so called pastor"), and many others. I don't see Jesus in theses two. They need to repent.

I strongly disagree with any sort of censorship, so I wonder, is the Obama campaign censoring the information or is there a legitimate reason offered by LA Times to explain avoiding the video release.

Regardless, I don't see Obama's casual relationship with Khalidi as anything incriminating or relevant to this election. If you really think relations with Israel are a strong voting issue, please question McCain's 0.5 million USD contribution to Khalidi.

In my opinion, the policies and politics of the candidate are more important than their old associations. McCain shouldn't be criticized for Keating or his strong ties with the Bush administration, Obama shouldn't be criticized for Wright or Ayers, and neither should suffer from a casual relationship with Khalidi. Let's focus on issues, not associations.

Obama had a strong relationship with Khalidi according to his book. He learned foreign policy at the dinner table with him and his wife.

McCain didn't donate to Khalidi. The money went to one of the few survey companies in the Palestinian lands.

These are just two of those things being hidden or glossed over. While it is of no importance to some of the public, such as, the Obaba supporters.....

It is of extreme importance to those who are not voting for him or have yet to make up their mind. Allowing this vital information to be aired AFTER the election or NOT AT ALL is to deceive the American public.

While I read to enlighten myself, I make sure I read various sources on the same topic so that I am well versed. This is impossible to do on Obaba, because 99% of the media shelter him.

Do you honestly and truly believe that it would make a damn difference? His friendship with Ayers and Rev. Wright were made public and NOBODY cares. I seriously doubt the Obamanites would give two shits if it were aired because they would say it's all propaganda from McCain's camp. It will come back to bite everyone in the ass.

As far as I know, the LA Times obtained the video on the condition that it would not be released. Violating that promise would be to undermine universally recognized journalistic principles and ultimately a disservice to the public.

And yes: I would say the exact same thing if Sen. McCain were the main attraction.

It really does not matter. I realize at this time in my life that people will believe all the propaganda they want and will twist anything towards their viewpoint And this is exactly a point in fact. I just wish all of you that do not have the understanding of the years of the middle east problerms should go visit and talk to some of the Palestinians themselves. The real people.
