President Obama spoke to women supporters today at a Denver event.

"...I wanna make sure that when she's working she is getting paid the same as men, I gotta say that First Ladies right now don't, even though that's a tough job!"

Definitely not! First ladies are NOT elected officials. They just happen to be the woman married to the person who was elected. If we start doing that then where does it stop? Are the spouses of the members of congress and the senate going to get paid? Or how about the spouses of Governors or Mayors. First Ladies run around doing appearances and charity work for the sole benefit of their husband’s career…so if she’s living off his income then she’s already being paid.

Only a progressive elitist would think that they should be paid for doing a 'job' that first of all isn't a job, and second of all NOBODY asked or hired you to do...

because traveling the world like a queen with your million dollar entourage, and all your closest friends and family on the taxpayer dole...just isn't enough..

If she wasn't the first lady,would she have gone to all those countries on vacation?Would she have those expensive clothes.Would she have a party every week?Would she have met all those celebrities?Would she have cooks and aids helping her.
Well ,as I see it.She doesn't deserve one penny in wages.

Good grief, no. They live free in public housing, have a full time staff that takes care of their every need, they have security protection they don't pay for, they travel around the world at no cost to them, entertain guests in their house with no regard to cost since the food is provided for them, utilities are paid for, etc.
