Audit it, confiscate what it has, forgive all debts owed to it (including 1.6 trillion owed by the Treasury), and jail all those engaged in fraud from Bernanke on down, whether they worked for the Fed or were on the receiving end of its favoritism.
Absolutely, daily, insider trading prohibited in congress, salary, other perks taken way down and most of all term limits . our present congress for the most part is disgusting.
Lets see all that money they say they have to throw at the stock market to keep it solvent. Not only isn't that money backed by anything..it doesn't even exist. They can't physically print money fast enough to throw it into the system in the amount that they have, so that money exist on a computer ONLY. it's not only unsecured money it's HYPOTHETICAL money. Besides which that money that's supposed to exist is supposed to be the propery of the American people not the government so an audit should be DEMANDED.
Also A BUDGET! It is UNCONSTITUTIONAL for the government not to present a budget every year. For the last 3 years congress and the president have been BREAKING THE LAW! where the hell is the outrage????
All agencies should be audited. When properly utilized audits can be helpful in improving upon defiencies. However, when used solely as a "gotcha" technique, they are useless and a waste of time.
Of course the Fed should be audited. Should publicly traded corporations get audited? Should municipalities and counties be audited? Should the Federal Govt have the GAO?
The Fed is a creature of Congress and serves the American people. Therefore, the Fed and its servants are subject to audit, and forteiture, if they betray their mission.

Yes definitely!!! Senator Sanders from Vermont had a bill to audit Federal Reserve once a year, but congress amended it to just a one time audit. Too bad, I think at least once every 2 or 3 years anyway.
It should be audited immediately, they are missing 9 trillion dollars and that is enough to pay off more than half the debt. How can they possibly be missing $9 trillion? Where did it go? Who has it? And better yet, why is it missing and they cannot find it?
i,d like to see how much nasty stuff we can dredge up. They are the ones who the government delegates the authority to manage the money supply. We have a right to know what they are doing with our dollars.

Every branch of the government needs a regular audit that is fully viewed by the public. No matter how big a company gets they can be audited and they can audit their own employees. Well since all government agencies are employed by tax payers, tax payers should have the right to know how their employees are doing.
