Should SodaHead Allow People To Threaten The Life Of The President or Anyone For That Matter ?

Lately there seems to be a rash of disturbed and imbalanced people threatening the life of the President of the United States and other SH Members. Should SH be allowing this type of dangerous behavior ?

Threatening the President of the United States is a class D felony under United States Code Title 18, Section 871. It consists of knowingly and willfully mailing or otherwise making "any threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States".

The United States Attorneys' Manual states that the Terrorism and Violent Crime Section has supervisory authority over Section 871 cases.

Thanx Che cuz all the flags that were put up on the post I believe you are talking about were taken down. I even told Fef about it & the post still stands. Allowing these threats to stand because this is a Conservative website simply paints their side of the aisle as crazy people who are bent on doing violence to get their way.

because Obama hasnt verbally said "I'm going to kill_____ (with the exception of Bin Laden, and I doubt he ever stated those exact wordfs, anyway), thats why, and because what you're referring to open to interpretation---the same canNOT be said for stating that you plan to bring harm to someone, which is ILLEGAL.

oh, yeah...so long as its "in all good fun", lets walk into a bank and yell "this is a stick-up!"; as your being slammed onto the floor with a gun put into your ear, tell them that it was "all in good fun", and then, tell them again when you're being charged. For good measure, make sure you tell them that to the court when you go on trial, just in case they didnt know that "it was all in good fun".

I didnt say anything about "real physical violence"-- I'm using an example of how you canNOT say whatever you want to say whenever you want and it protected by "freedom of speech"; thats how we got there.

just call the secret service--I dont think SH has to do anything about it; now, if we threaten each other, that would be different, but I cant see them doing anything about threatening a political figure. Every state has a local # for the SS:))

Maybe if youtube had reported Anders Breiviks video activity in time,-seventy seven people would still be alive.The situation online is that criminals and potential criminals can hide behind an anonymous identity.Police were able to arrest a whole pedophile gang recently due also to websites reporting suspect criminal intentions.
